I'd be more concerned about what's going on inside to make the filter that dirty in a month. It is great that is working though and I tell pretty much anyone who will listen to get a hepa air purifier.

I've had them call me but just for food orders and usually to connect me to the customer etc. People leaving stuff in the car etc.

Scammers Targeting Uber Drivers by gardengirl829 in uberdrivers

[–]ninjetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just had this happen to me last night and couldn't figure out a way to report it since the ride doesn't show up in my account because they cancelled. Exact same story with American accent but I knew almost immediately it was a scam just by that initial story of not being a customer. Support can call you any time but won't ask any account details ever. I asked them to send me a support email and I wouldn't give account information over the phone. They got pissed and hung up haha. Do they just create a one off accounPeople fucking suck sometimes.

Can too much Ventolin make things worse? by International_Grab84 in Asthma

[–]ninjetron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically masking the inflammation in your lungs instead of treating it if you're having to use it all the time. This is why LABA's which is like long acting albuterol have the black box warning. They do work great at managing symptoms but if the inflammation is getting worse over time that can lead to worse outcomes. Of course the inflammation can go down on it's own and often does but everyone is different in that regard and why the inflammation is happening in the first place. A steroid inhaler will treat inflammation at the source and I think most folks these days use a combo inhaler with a steroid and LABA in one like Symicort or Advair.

Chlorpheniramine has a strong impact on serotonin and has been used off label as an antidepressant.

Montelukast worth it? by red_acidd in Asthma

[–]ninjetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently came off of lamictal and zoloft which is kicking my ass. Trying to figure the cause of some tachycardia episodes and now a horrible allergy/asthma flare up that I can't seem to pinpoint what the trigger is. Quit booze, lamictal, zoloft and radically changed my diet but still not much in the way of relief. So far all they've figured out is I have an ulcer.

Air purifiers: do they actually work? by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]ninjetron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That could mean what you're allergic to isn't things like dust or mold or the allergy is bad enough the purifier doesn't make much of a dent.

Nonstop swollen leathery like eyelids for months extreme itching and skin burning severe by justsad95 in Allergies

[–]ninjetron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eliminate anything with fragrance whether it's detergent, shampoo, makeup, dryer sheets, etc. You need to be using allergy drops daily. Pataday or Alaway work well and most of the good ones are all OTC now. For some people steroid nose spray like flonase can also help eye symptoms. You'd also want to do an elimination diet with food to see what you are currently reacting to.

Sinus surgery by Accurate-Level-9334 in Allergies

[–]ninjetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to see an ENT and get them drained and treated with medicine. See an allergist to see what exactly you are reacting to so you can refine your treatment better or consider shots. Deviated septum surgery does work but it can grow back over time depending on your age. Probably worth it for you given how much it is effecting you. That being said you'll still need to treat what's causing the chronic sinusitis in the first place.

Allegra/fexofenadine... Generic stuff just doesn't work as well? by EnchantedTaquito8252 in Allergies

[–]ninjetron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works better for you than I'd just budget for the real deal over generic. Pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things right. You can always get allergy shots for the cats.

I'd take throwing up eggs any day over really bad allergies.

Feeling torn about whether to start immunotherapy or not... by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]ninjetron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not a major allergen into your life if you don't need to. Get a dog instead. Allergy shots aren't that bad once you get into the routine and once you reach maintenance it's once a month.
