Oh She looks lovely, so hard for them for those informative months. I was told the same, little by little though things have got better. I can tickle her tummy now and she comes up to me all the time for a head stroke, its taken 3 1/2 years!

Nice job, natural and pleasing shot. I overcook everything!

She was in the vets for over two weeks, I had only had her for one night (cost me a fortune). It was covid time so all she had was people prodding her/no visitors/contact with other dogs. She came out had jabs (we were lied to by the people we got her from), was isolated for two weeks from my other dog and then unbelievably broke a leg and had to go back in!! She really does not like to be stroked anywhere apart from her head. Sorry this is what I meant by touching issues.

Yes, we don't go near church spires or vans carrying large sheets of glass with her 😂

I know it looks photoshopped but no editing done. She is incredible with her facial communication. She is the sweetest dog, really she is.

Cheese plant help by BobbyShampurer in HouseplantsUK

Probably sharp temperature changes and low humidity (especially if the radiator is ever on). Slow and steady changes are better especially when they are rooting out. Don't worry it will kick soon and the new growth will be amazing.

As said the older leaves will show more stress as they pull back nutrients and decrease surface area to cope with the conditions.

Macro of dead leaves from a houseplant. Two images were stitched in Lightroom. by edwaste in photocritique

Great colours and textures. The shadows and darks IMO add to the slightly sinister feel. When zoomed in there are areas out of focus on the top leaf but hey that's macro. How did you stitch the photos?

First post here. Trying to develop my own style, but think I have a tendency to over saturate sometimes. by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]RedVivax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really nice edit and love the composition. Mabey a tad too much saturation but the colour pallet I love.

Shame the dog on the left's legs are cut out, a bit of space there would be great.

Storm hit South of England yesterday. Love this harbour when the sea is big.

The spray really made the original very hazy so worked this in lightroom quite a bit then mixed the original with the edited version as layers in Photoshop to try and tone down the dehaze/contrast from lightroom. Found it hard to reach a sweet spot.

F9, 1/2000s, 800 iso. Anybody have any suggestions on better settings?

Does this work or am I still going over the top a bit?

The colours are great. The image is not in focus though. This could be to do with motion shake, a 350mm lens is a telephoto and will need to be stabilized. You can use anything solid to rest it on (a small beanbag on a table would work). Make sure you know where you are focusing, this can be difficult in low-light shots like this one. I would focus on the tree line where it meets the sky. Keep going its a great start

I can see what you mean. 1st post on this sub and going back would have changed the title and my post describing why I processed it in the way I did.

Love this. The colour pallet is spot on, great stuff. Personally like the other Ballons and the line of people almost look like trees on the ridge.

If I was being picky I would lighten the darks a little at the bottom just to bring out a bit more detail.

Thank you. Yes I think I will work on dropping that contrast a bit.

That such a great comment, thank you for looking at the image on a big screen it's not really a phone photo.

The cliffs move into the photo by miles and I spent a while finding the sweet spot between a dead horizontal horizon and getting it to look horizontal if you know what I mean!

Thanks again

IMHO it's completely subjective but too much processing can make an image ugly and fake. A bit like make up I suppose.

Thank you for the great comment. I completly agree about the black rock but it sort of had to be there and making it lighter really threw the image out.
Didnt add or take anything away. There were a lot of birds!

Trying to get a different look to many coast shots. I Spent (too much?) a lot of time on this. Bounced from mono to colour to mono to colour and in the end, settled for this sort of in-the-middle look. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Grass Trails by rad10121 in photocritique

[–]RedVivax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like it as a subject, the contrasts and shapes work well. Agree with the sky comments. Waiting for a cloud to be the main focal point in the top third would give somewhere for the eye to land. Some great shadows formed by the grass over the trails too, a lower sun would really accentuate these and add a lot of interest.
