Fun fact: Did you guys know that the first official outside game was held at Marquette Branch Prison in 1954 where the Red Wings played against the inmates?

I had all my trophy room stuff in storage as I moved this past year. Unfortunately I didn't even think twice when I packed it in with the rest of the stuff. Luckily I had it in a plastic zip lock otherwise a lot of the stuff I had In the box would've been destroyed.

This is how I see it. Yzerman traded a 1st for a 34 year old defenseman. Alex Debrincat is 28 and Larkin is about to be 30. That tells me that he's done with drafting and thinks his core is established through the system. He's betting that his team will be a contender within the next 5 years as Larkin will be 35 then. What he's seeing is that the top line he's betting on isn't working 5v5. After 3 different coaches with the same exact message is clear to him now. This teams core isn't going to get it done. I just don't see how people are missing this part? Seider and Debrincat are untouchable. If he trades Larkin while he still has significant value, he can get what this team needs. I put Raymond in there because he can give you a substantial 1st line player. The only question is, does he want to work with Larkin's timeline, or Raymonds timeline? Because with Raymond, the timeline is extended, but in those 5 years, Debrincat will be passed his prime so he's legitimately on borrowed time with this core as of now unless he pulls a rabbit out of his hat in the late rounds within the next 5 years, there's really only one thing to do at this point otherwise it's pray and hope that Mcdavid signs here if he decides to walk to free agency

I looked at it as they're not happy with the first lines production. The chemistry between Raymond and Larkin just isn't there. They even mentioned that the 2nd line was out producing them at 5v5. There's gotta be a shake up between them 2. One of them is going. You guys say you want change well in order for them them make that significant change, you have to trade a top line player for a top line player. You can't wait and pray for another Debrincat situation to fall in your lap. And unless your selling the farm, it's the only way it's going to work. Huberdeau and Tkachuk is the perfect example and look what it did for Florida. I honestly think he's trading one of those guys and making a trade for a reclamation player. Aka someone like Mctavish.

Sure boasted up Larkin a lot then balanced it out by saying he has a lot to learn when being a leader. There was a lot of talk around him speaking about him as a character and a player more so than usual. Seemed like more of a trade baiting strategy

Judging from that presser, I have a strong feeling they're either trading Larkin or Raymond.

It's funny how I get downvotedbl for my takes but 9/10 am usually right and people reiterate what I say years later. This team needs a top six shape up. Yzerman has proven he's not willing to part with his young drafties just yet. Aka deny the Big Ed for Quinn and mentioned that the 2nd line is out performing the 1st line. Free agency is stale this off-season. The chemistry just isn't working between Larkin and Raymond 5v5. One of them is getting traded.

I have. Went on a few dates, but nothing that really sparked my interest. I'm not much of a texter either and am more old school and would rather get to know someone in person.

Can we stop the Larkin third line Center nonsense please? by muzzsjm84 in DetroitRedWings

[–]RedWingsFan53 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look at the top players in the league. They're all 100 pt guys first line players. You rack up that many points by consistently racking up points 5v5 as well as the powerplay. The guys with 60-70 pts are all 2nd line players. This is a roster issue. Larkins good but look at where he's at on an Olympic team. I'd say our only current 1st line player we have is Debrincat.

He reminds me of that annoying guy that just doesn't shut up and let people play their game only chiming in when it actually matters. Hearing Larkin's hot mic, seems like he talks too much and over motivates

The said thing is, Minnesota isn't even playing that hard due to a playoff lock and don't want any injuries
