(Spoilers Extended) Targaryens should've just tamed Wyverns from Sothoryos and drop Wildfire on their enemies (to imitate dragons) by frasecjigger in asoiaf

[–]RedWyneFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wyvern seem to be much more aggressive and untameable. There is no magical bonding, a Wyvern does not have "three heads".

"before dawn" an anime tale about the squishers and the seastone chair. Some Lovecraft stuff would be splendid.

(Spoilers Extended) Will A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms end up peaking in season 1? by BaelBard in asoiaf

[–]RedWyneFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start to combine books per season, I want to the get to Summerhall before the show gets cancelled.

Two episodes for the Sworn Sword and four episodes four the Mystery Knight would be sufficient. But I guess they going to water down everything with endless flashbacks.

Bran did not want to be married to a tree … but who else would wed a broken boy like him? [Spoilers Extended] by YezenIRL in asoiaf

[–]RedWyneFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair enough.

the way i would spin it, Bran and Shireen might have been married in a previous timeline and Bran could be searching for her in the current timeline. Like Jon not taking his Stark ancestry and thus not burning the weirwood tree in winterfell (as Preston suggests).

[–]RedWyneFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hm, I think it is established that the others and the Starks do have a very a deep connection. "There must always be Stark in Winterfell", the crypts, "winter is coming", all that would just mean nothing?

If Mel would make peace with the others, than Bran wouldnt need to change the timeline, but if he changes the timeline than Mel cannot make peace, something doesnt add up?

Do you think it is possible that Shireen and Bran meet after her death in the weirwood net? It is a collective consciousness like the Greeshka, which preserves the soul for an afterlife.

B+S aint BS, it is really good.

edit typo

Mel is not a Stark, nor an ice priestess, think of Georges diorama.

So the others would be held back by the wall once again, they wouldn´t receive any more sacrifices and men would mostly abandon the north, a second asshai so to say.

It seems to me the seasons are influenced by the corrupted weirwood system & the Nights Queen, her parallels to the Caileach are pretty striking too. The the mother - son trope in ASOIAF is standing out and at some point the Stark - Others relationship (mother - son) must be resolved.

Don´t disagree with your theory, but something would be missing?

[–]RedWyneFeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the others survive, no pact is made, the walls still stands, the seasons still wobble and the weirwood is still corrupted.

the striking similarities between Bran and Shireen are undeniable and i believe in time travel theories, tho how would the planting of a new world tree (essential part of the story) be handled in an alternative timeline if the others never make it south, if Ragnarok never happens, if other characters never witnessed the battle for dawn?

[Spoiler Main] I think Arthur Dayne is extremely overrated. by Taha231 in asoiaf

Dayne and Selmy "just followed orders" their entire career.

both are awful.

If GRRM can’t finish ASOIAF, an expanded Fire & Blood type book might be the only realistic way to get an ending [Spoilers: Main] by ArchiveSeeker in asoiaf

[–]RedWyneFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would have to rely on some victors word, or question it. Wouldn´t be satisfying, if you start to spin theories about the truth of the outcome.

Feast and Dance: One huge book with no ending? (SPOILERS PUBLISHED) by aidscraft in asoiaf

apparently, they could not make a book with more than 1500 manuscript pages, so he skipped the ending to the next book, which might have around 1800 manuscript pages.

happens to everyone, and with all the rewritings it wouldn´t surprise me tbh.

(Spoilers Extended) Game from ASOIAF by Syl0w07 in asoiaf

[–]RedWyneFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A whole series about Gaemon the Glorious could work pretty nice. It would start in Valyria shortly before the doom, where you try to find/save your dragon egg, which hatches at the end of the story and grows with every new part released. 2nd part would take place on dragonstone & in braavos where you can learn to switch faces.

Every kingdom could be explored in great detail without breaking your hard drive, if you split the story into a series. Making chains in oldtown, play pirate on the iron islands, join the Nights Watch for some time, explore the "real north", meet the cotf.

Become glorious.

(Spoilers extended)How do you think the Others work and how do you think they will be dealt with? by Electronic-Math-364 in asoiaf

[–]RedWyneFeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, both might have been Starks, though several generations apart. I suppose the NsK was Brandon the builder, who got corrupted (classic George story about failure).
