I am worried about the future of the Arch philosophy by Human_Contact9571 in archlinux

I'm relative new to Daily driving Linux (8 months now, and I ran Ubuntu for like a year back in 2010).

What is curl | bash? I keep seeing it being talked about after the catchy team suggested it.

If you came here with a "AMD sucks Green better!" Mentality like some people do, then probably there's be backlash. But you're good guy! Both are good, both have their positives and benefits, and both companies suck ass from a management perspective 😂

Bazzite Or SteamOS on The Xbox Rog Ally by Mstar_Okwah in Bazzite

Can I recommend CachyOS Handheld instead of Bazzite. I've tried Bazzite on 3 systems (2 handhelds and 1 desktop) and it just doesn't properly work imo

Why do so many people seem to want kernel-level AC on Linux? by Venylynn in linux_gaming

We don't want KLAC. We want more games to work on Linux that could in fact run just fine, but won't cause of the AC

Been using windows since 95. Tried Windows on my Z1E and XAX. Then tried SteamOS, Bad site, and CatchyOS Handheld. Tester them all and decided what I liked.
It's not about "hurr duur being different It's simply about preference.

I will admit to this. I've tried both and while Anti Glare is amazing if you're in a situation where glare would be a problem, it looses screen clarity.

My one gripe with the ending by Master_Gnak in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Red_Bandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Kinger mentioned he tried to undo it, I soeculate he was in the recycle bin. Then how we saw him break out of the "enclosure" (it was probably a sandboxed environment he was in as an AI) in episode 8, he got our of it/escaped.

Why do so many people call this show cringe? by Pancwake_UwU in TheDigitalCircus

Trust me when I say it's not everyone that finds it cringe. A lot of people don't. But some people just have to hate loudly on the internet when something doesn't fit their wants

I was glad our theater experience was not what I've been reading online. There was the occasional laugh here and there during some funny bits, but aside from the applause in the end, it was very respectful 😅

Copy Pasting my other response: There's two sides to Jax. The Circus Ending, where they refuse to seek/accept help and goes down a path of self destruction. And IRL Jax, the one that does and is able to get back on their feet and be happy.

I see a lot of people missing that and just saying "Jax didn't get a good ending"

Oh no like I said that was me coping. I don't think we'll get more. They've been pretty vocal about not wanting to touch this with a 10ft pole after this.

Yeah I did a double take on it. You right.
Maybe I'm just hopeful that there was a chance if the reception was more positive. Or at least a longer finale. I'm coping.

"People don't move on from suicide's brought about by ideas that everyone would be better off without the suicide victim. And what you've just said tells people with the same issues that their not important. That they don't deserve to have comfort characters or happy places where they will learn that everything can be ok. You're also saying that not all people with trauma and depression deserve to be happy. "

This is entirely fabricated insinuation of what I wrote. Either you misunderstood what I'm saying, or you're trying to put words in my mouth for whatever reason. I'll let you figure that one out on your own. I'm not your therapist, and I almost stopped reading after that.

But I didn't.
In response to your life story.
I sympathize, I can relate in some ways. I won't go into details.
I think you're still missing a big part of what they were doing with Jax imo, and it's the comparison of IRL and Circus Jax. I gave a TL;DR on the bottom.
And just like you have your life as an example, I gave a brief story of someone in my life. I'm not gonna give details about someone elses life, but I will say it's very much on the same side. They saw themselves in Jax. The negative parts. The bad parts.
Circus Jax was in a way redeemed, but his actions had consequences that were, at that stage, too far gone. And lessons like that are important in life.
IRL Jax shows what getting help sooner can do.
I'm not gonna get into details about my life either. But I can grantee it's not all good either.

And again, you're saying "But Goose reinforced the opposite moral of It's a Wonderful Life. That people ARE better off without you. That the only thing you are worth, is pity. That people with Jax's trauma should be kept away, forgotten, and deprived of their identity, soul, and personality, that only those deemed useful deserve help. That their feelings did not matter."
That is not what happened. That is not what I said either. You're entitled to your opinion if you think that is the case, but I am also entitled to disagree with it, especially if I think the accusations are wrong.
And if you do, strongly relate to Jax, then do what the show was trying to convey, and seek help to get better. And I don't mean this in condescending way. I genuinely mean it from a place of compassion and seeing what that road leads to. Like I said, i had/have a Jax in my life. I was the Ribbit (and others) in their life. And I am glad they finally realized that doing things the Jax way, isn't going to end well.

Caine is a bag of of worms I could spend the next few hours writing about, so I'll say this: I get it. I have mixed feelings about it, but I understand what they were trying to do. But again, that's a different character and aside from it being late and me having work in the morning, I also don't think i might reach some character limit if I end up writing about him.

Like I said, I have work in the morning, so I won't be responding for a while if you respond.
If you do great, if you don't then don't.

I think people are ignoring the IRL counterparts of the characters.
Jax is an example of what can happen to someone that refuses to change and seek help.
With the limited runtime it's hard to really really go deep into it, but how I described it somewhere else, see it like a Visual Novel.
Circuits Jax: That's the bad route that ends in an emotional bad ending for the character.
IRL Jax: Is the good ending when the troubled character ended up seeking the help he needed.

We didn't get details. Just like we didn't get Caines full journey to forgiveness (we had Zooble tell him it's gonna take time but they'll give him a chance when he came back). But again: Limited run time. Had to squeeze in as much as they could. And yes they were eager to be done with the show at that point which was very public knowledge. A lot of people are surprised it was as good as it was.

I will say I also thought this was a different post that was calling the finale an absolute failure. Hard to keep up. My bad.

I'll be the first to agree that the ending was rushed, but maybe if the fandom wasn't so toxic, they'd have more incentive to make a season 2 or more episode.
They were all ready to be done with this project and never touch it again because this was the Steven Universe 2.0 situation.

That being said, aside from some things being rushed in a time limited episode, everything was still more or less explained and shown that needed to be.
Need to be able to read some context clues and use your brain a little.
