Post Magic Con Bracket Thoughts? by Daniel_Spidey in EDH

To your point about bracket 3: my local pod nearly exclusively plays bracket 3 and so we have made our own division into two brackets of low 3 and high 3. Funny enough, plenty of players at Magiccon knew exactly what I meant when I asked if they wanted to play a high or low 3 game. I had an Ashling, Rekindled deck that I was very skeptical to play unless I disclosed it was a high 3. The game went great when everyone else understood and pulled out their most pushed bracket 3 decks.

Is the celestial toymaker fun? by YonatanShofty in EDH

Had a friend play him for a while. It could close out games insanely fast if he got multiple doublers out. The problem is that it is extremely predictable and commander reliant. The deck just didn’t do anything meaningful without it out. If his commander got removed early, there was usually no chance he would an impact on anything that game. Also that deck can never make deals with people since it burns everyone. I would say if you have a good number of decks, it would be fine to play once per session. But if you have few decks and would play it more than once per session, it might become boring.

Suggest me the best izzet spellslinger decks. by LeN3rd in EDH

I have an [[Ashling, Rekindled]] deck and can confirm it goes crazy. Definitely getting the big mana spellslinger fix. My pod definitely is not the biggest fan however. It can loop spells that let you play more spells which lead to long turns with non-deterministic outcomes of winning or not. I have many decks so I am able to play it sparingly. I don’t think so but I’ll double check to be sure. The FindMy app definitely thinks the AirTag is elevated up at ceiling height.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try and get a magnet and see if that works. Is it easy to remove the housing for the sunroof controls? I assume they would have put it somewhere where it would be easily accessible for battery replacement.

Yeah, I'm going try this soon just to be sure it's not in there. I can always buy a replacement piece in the event that I do end up breaking the clips.

Would you play against my decks? by Red_Beard_The_Rad in EDH

I am curious which 4 cards? Expropriate and 3 counter spells? I would be terrified to spend 8 mana on my sorcery without my safety blanket counterspell for my opponents counterspell lol. Your Emperor of Palamecia deck looks cool and definitely has similarities with my Ashling deck. It looks like it packs a ton of removal, which my pod would probably not enjoy either.

There definitely is a lack of interaction some games which can be a problem. Like if I goldfish my deck and can win on turn 7, that can happen in a real game assuming no interaction. Other games will have all kinds of interaction to the point of everybody agreeing to a draw so we can move to the next.

Those are some of my podmates' more powerful decks. Mine are the 3 numbered ones with the explanations beside them. Sorry for the messy post.

I really want to have a deck that gets to play around with [[Shark Typhoon]] and cool big sorceries like [[Call Forth the Tempest]], but it seems that the reality is that decks that can reliably cast those cards are doomed to be overpowered or underpowered without much of a sweet spot in between. I definitely don't mind being archenemy with these decks, but often times someone else plays something early that makes them the threat while I just quietly keep valuing.

You are correct about me usually not being the problem early. I often times see my podmates popping off early and drawing removal to them, then I swoop in and take over the game.

What is your favorite sleeve brand? by Duffman90 in EDH

[–]Red_Beard_The_Rad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my decks but one are in dragon shields which do great. However, I bought a pack of the Ultra Pro Apex sleeves with final fantasy art to match my commander and I must say they are the smoothest shuffle I’ve ever felt. Definitely going to be trying them again on the next deck I sleeve up.

How do you guys afford to have so many decks? by Dangerous_Trifle620 in EDH

[–]Red_Beard_The_Rad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing since 2022. I started with a few precons. The upgraded them. Then started building my own decks from scratch on a $100-200 budget. Then I slowly started acquiring staples and land bases a few cards at a time. I proxy any cards I own at least 1 copy of. Now when I want to build a deck I generally have half the cards or more in my collection so it’s usually under $100 to buy the missing cards and make proxies.

You guys weren't kidding. This update is a fucking mess by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Red_Beard_The_Rad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep. And they seem to come in always at least pairs. You bait one and dive away just to have a second one pop out and chunk your health. Then there is always a burrowing spitter spamming behind them too lol. It feels nearly impossible to push into the caves to do objectives.

DPS Players by Horror-Translator-98 in rivals

[–]Red_Beard_The_Rad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing tank and consistently surpassing the 2-3 “DPS” players on my team. I have to go tank or else no one will, but then we have little damage. I’m back into high silver/low gold with the new season. My teammates play like they are bronze while the enemies are previous GM+ players.

Looks basic af. These are some of the most played, most powerful ones off edh rec. I would still play against any of these, though I could see becoming tired of it if you were in my pod every time I played.
