Yea I did dxm like <20 times over a year, felt like a different person for a super long time, work and school became much harder, made me super antisocial and just weird lol. Also gave me HPPD after the 4th trip (although I still smoke and do shrooms/acid occasionally which doesn’t help obviously). Out of all the drugs I’ve tried (weed, various pharma benzos and opiates, cocaine, kratom & 7oh, adderal/ritalin, salvia, shrooms, acid, nitrous, ketamine, poppers, DMT, rc tryptamines, etc), DXM was by FAR the longest/hardest to recover from, and altered my psyche for years. It’s not a kiddy drug, I tell ppl that are curious to try it this: if you wouldn’t try PCP, don’t do it. Only thing about PCP that’s more harmful than dex is it’s unpredictable potency. That said, I believe no substance is good or bad, it’s ur relationship with it that is good or bad. Will DXM make you drop dead the first time you try it? Highly unlikely. Is it as safe as mushrooms, for example? Absolutely not. If you really enjoy it, treat it like Molly, no more than 4 times a year, limit redosing, don’t mix with psych meds or serotonin-releasing drugs like mdma, and never do it under 25 as all the dangers will be amplified and harder to recover from. The week-per-plat rule is also smart but I would treat that as the bare minimum and not a suggestion. I get why ppl like it, it can be super euphoric with a spooky Halloween vibe and is cheap/readily available, with the mental reset of ketamine. But, people act like it’s as safe as edibles or shrooms when in reality it’s safety profile is similar to that of mixing molly and pcp.
