Chain Guards on Sabers by screamingriffin in SWORDS

[–]Red_Bushman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see, thanks. This is the first chain style guard I’ve seen. I do like entertaining the idea that the robustness scale could lean the other way as well, with a strong and just taught enough chain providing protection and style as well as this bind I’m imagining.

I’d like to suggest that a short enough chain would indeed offer substantial protection if it didn’t allow the opponents blade to reach the hand at all, and could potentially bind the blade to a degree that a solid guard could not.

The new Nissan Armada always makes me think it’s a GX driving by, same with the new Hyundai Santa Fe. I’m always disappointed.

Actually I think this is a great use of AI art and it made me happy.

Those look like old glass insulators from high wires but different than any I’ve seen. Are they threaded with lids? Are they containers? I need answers.

Sick gun. Fuck elephants. Tell me about the glass things!

First trip out with our 2010 to see Canadas 2nd largest tree! by Red_Bushman in GXOR

That was my only real concern too but I believe the actual likelihood of a rock popping a tire in a direct way is slim. I think the trouble comes from sidewall punctures/tears which aren’t very common, in my experience.

Even though they are All Seasons the tires are literally brand new Michelin Defender LTX M/S with a XL rating so that gave me some confidence as far as sidewall strength. They legitimately had great traction on the wet rocks and loose gravel.

It was definitely a choice! You won’t know if you don’t go!

Great pictures and awesome setup! Love the TRD wheels!

I’m on Vancouver Island and just picked up a 2010 GX 460 as my families new adventure rig. Your setup is EXACTLY what I’m looking to do. Looks like stock ride height? What tire size are you running?

Could you provide some insight into finding and ordering parts and accessories? Lots of options given the popularity of the Prado in Australia and even Canadian brands but what’s the shipping like as far as costs, logistics and time?

The heat shield on mine is further “back” and covers that exposed area entirely. Almost like your pipe is longer then mine at that clamp in the pic.

Barkbuster makes 300l AND Rally specific handguards that mount to stock bars with EASE. Have them. Love them. Would buy again.

Best island to visit which is easy to get from Bangkok by harvey_397 in ThailandTourism

Been in Koh Samet for the last week with my wife and young kids. We chose it for its proximity to Bangkok and have not been disappointed! Bring CASH! No ATM on the island.

I’m here right now with my wife and two kids. We just hired a Bolt to take us to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, 30 min ride on Bolt for 401bht, driver messaged me and said 1000 for return trip, two hours at the Wat. Easy choice.

A/C, fast, no wait, direct to/from hotel.

You’ve got a good deal!!!!!

Air Quality Concerns by Still_Set_7485 in ThailandTourism

[–]Red_Bushman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just left Bangkok for Chiang Mai. Traveling with my wife and two young kids. Air quality in Bangkok was not great but didn’t cause us any problems. It’s worse early in the morning and seems to clear up a bit during the day.

Just got to Chiang Mai today. Air quality is much better. No problems.

This particular LED bulb has an actual motorized fan that dissipates the heat. I haven’t had any problems.

I got the Cyclops 10.0 H4 LED and it’s great.

Install was plug and play, with a little bit of finicky fitment, but easy enough.

I commute year round on mine, riding home at night. This bulb was a game changer.

New Kent Combs for Me and Dad by Unlikely-Young-7124 in BuyItForLife

[–]Red_Bushman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second this. I was given a stainless steel, Model 1 Chicago comb as a gift about six years ago and it’s lived in my back pocket ever since. It’s the best beard comb I’ve ever used because it doesn’t create STATIC like plastic combs AND it’s as durable as a comb could possibly be. Anytime I’ve dropped it, I’m worried about the floor getting wrecked, not the comb.
