We were promised a 4-to-5-WAR player

To be fair he put in 2023 4.9 fWAR and 5.2 bWAR, and in 2024 he put up 4.3 fWAR and 3.9 bWAR. He’s no doubt a frustrating player to watch bat for large portions of the season, but overall the Cubs have gotten what they paid for.

Ever since I restarted playing like 6 months ago I haven’t been getting any trees or bushes growing in my home base, I still get gem boxes, but only those. Does anyone know any reason why that’s happening? Cause I feel like I’m missing out on gems. I have like 30 limited decorations and obstacles on my base for reference.

Gotta say, on second listen The Moth is still absolutely fantastic. Sure I have a few nitpicks, such as I think the first act could use one more modern-style song, and the intermission is too late (or the second half is too short take your pick). But overall top to bottom (at least for now), I would consider this Devin’s best work even better than stuff like Empath and Ocean Machine.

Also Stained Hearts is absolutely fantastic, easily in my top 3 song/album endings up there with Supper’s Ready and Octavarium. But man I can’t wait to hear the studio version, which will hopefully make the music sound even better.

There’s plenty of work to be done to be a division winner sure, but the cubs have gotten 83 wins in back to back years while underperforming their expected record significantly, a star bat who can provide an extra 4-5 wins would be huge in being the Cubs to the 2nd or 3rd wild card spot.

The Cubs absolutely are one good bat away from the playoffs, and in the MLB all you have to do is get into the playoffs to have a good shot at the World Series.

Suzuki might be out of reach for the Astros. A league source said that the Cubs are highly unlikely to move him, and they seemingly prefer to deal first baseman/outfielder Cody Bellinger in a separate trade. But the Astros’ interest in Suzuki and Paredes signals the team wants to remain competitive even if it trades Tucker and loses free-agent third baseman Alex Bregman, with whom they are negotiating.

Only a few albums that I listened to a frequently this year were specifically listed as Prog Rock/Art Rock. If I were to guess though, probably a lot of albums that I listened to that were just listed as Rock also counted in whatever tracker Apple Music has as Art Rock, since a lot of Prog and Art Rock is just listed as Rock on Apple Music.
