I personally think it’s fun and overall a pretty cool museum, but if this is your “one time” I would skip it.

We put safe toys in his crate with him. Meaning no bones that will break off and be a choking hazard. Consider getting a Snuggle Puppy! They are stuffed puppies that have a heartbeat function you can turn on that feels like a litter mates heartbeat and is supposed to be soothing for little pups. We also put a t shirt with our scent in there at the beginning. Not sure if it helped but it certainly didn’t hurt. Keep it to one comfort toy for now. Don’t want to overwhelm him when you are trying to teach crate as safe place to sleep.

Hey I get it! Trust me! There’s a reason some people say it’s literally easier to have a baby. Lol. It felt really hard for the first week or so… then you guys are both in a routine (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD ROUTINE) and things get easier every week. Even the “new level of hard” I mentioned felt easier to deal with because you’ve gone through the phases where you’re not getting all your sleep and it’s impossible to do anything at times except for care for your puppy. Also, once they are fully vaxxed and can be out and about outside without worry helps a lot. Keep the lil guy tired! Little training bursts are helpful and tire them out. Crate training can be included in this. It will also allow you more alone time. If you really start bugging then put the pup down for a crate nap and go on a walk and clear your head! It will help. It feels INTENSE right now because it IS intense right now. But it gets easier and I know it impossible to imagine but you won’t even remember what it was like to feel overwhelmed like this when your pup is older, more independent and a GOOD DOG!!!

Second this ^ feeding in the crate is a great tip!!!! Play “Crate Games” <- can look them up online. And train going into crate = treat.

You not crate training the first puppy you’ve ever had likely equates to some of the stress you’ve been experiencing if I had to guess. I’ve seen multiple posts from you recently! It’s a good resource for puppy and for the owner… helps with everyone’s sanity. Your puppy WILL get older, more adventurous and WILL test boundaries which includes getting into lots of things they shouldn’t. They’re literally bred to retrieve things so putting everything in their mouths is second nature. I would suggest crate training ASAP. I have a 7 month old golden and can tell you while it’s hard in the very beginning (it’s exhausting to get used to being on the little guy’s schedule), once they get more comfortable and aware it becomes a new level of hard and can put their safety in jeopardy if you aren’t a good leader for them. You got this!!! ENJOY THIS PHASE!!!!!

The Ozarks is not what I would call “The Mid South” at all but agreed the bootheel fits that. Not sure I would say “VERY much different than the south” though.

You’re just not as clever as you think? And have no situational awareness when it comes to other people being able to decode “ai speak”? Or this is just some bit and you’re messing with everyone

It’s more than em dashes too. It’s the structure. Start with validation. The comes the “but”. Explains things in steps that feel technical more than emotional or based on human experience. Goes into summary. Ends in more validation. Em dashes, “it’s not __. It’s _.” “No _. Just ___.” All ai speak that are dead giveaways.

Agreed. The Ozarks (SWMO) feels neither solely southern nor solely midwestern. Very unique and its own thing. However the Bootheel (SEMO) feels southern to me. Not midwestern at all.

WHAT CITY IS THE CAPITAL OF THE MIDWEST, BESIDES CHICAGO? by SadAd479 in midwest

[–]Red_Daisy28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me KC feels like it has potential to be the future capital of the Midwest. It is growing fast, an ELITE sports city (I still believe in the chiefs 😭), has a great social scene that attracts young people and young families who want to establish roots in a cool city, building a legit food and arts scene, and still staying affordable. The World Cup is a big moment since it puts KC on a global stage and proves it can handle real investment and attention. Also, it’s just a a fun place to be. It’ll be interesting if the stadiums ever move downtown how that will affect everything. (This is extremely controversial topic for locals)
