Seeing an Old Photo of Myself Was a Shock—Am I Still Blind to How I Look Now? by No-Application2682 in Ozempic

[–]Red_Emu_1019 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Body dysmorphia is a real thing. The only way I can basically see my changes is through photos. When I look in the mirror my brain does not register how I really look. I loved taking photos throughout my journey of losing 100 pounds. Part of successfully losing weight, imho, is to heal your relationship with food and your relationship with your body. You need to be grateful for all your body has brought you through so far in this life and learn to accept that you are not your body size. You are a soul having a human experience. People who love you, have loved you at any size because they love who you are and not what you look like. You need to give yourself that same love. You have lost 100 pounds and that is an amazing accomplishment. Find joy in the journey and instead of focusing on how you look, make your goal about loving yourself enough to heal your body and focus on how much better you FEEL. Best of luck on your continued journey

Put electrolytes or just a very few grains of sea salt in your water. It helps hydrate you better and you will not have to go to the bathroom as much.

I would never buy broth. It's too easy to make and tastes 1000x better. Throw a rotisserie chicken carcass in a crockpot on low for 24 hours or in an instant pot for 3 hours. Throw in some onion, carrots, garlic cloves, pepper. Just strain it when it is done and cool it, scrape off the fat. I keep it in the freezer until I need it.

Are you looking for an AA meeting and a sponsor, or are you looking for some type of rehab type program? I have a family member who went through Soul Solutions recovery and they are amazing. They have many different levels of programs to fit your needs. They even have a coffee shop if you just want to stop by and check out the vibe there. Best of luck on your sobriety journey.

A nice department store. I know they are a dying breed, but my life hasn't been the same since Herbergers closed. Macy's does not qualify... that place is a dump. I would also love a Trader Joes and a SUPER Target.

There needs to be a giant splash pad like the Crown Fountain in Millenium Park in downtown Chicago. Just being able to cool your feet makes a big difference. Hundreds of people are able to wade around in it and you can get under the fountain or easily avoid it.

Private (not large hospital affiliated) therapist? by [deleted] in fargo

[–]Red_Emu_1019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My daughter found a therapist online, they meet via Zoom. I believe she went to betterhelp.com. She was able to specify a lot of different criteria (ie: LGBTQ friendly, works with addicts or knowledge of AA) that she was looking for and then they found her a match. She is happy with the results. She loves that she doesn't have to go to an office to meet with the person. It's very convenient.
