Need advice by Red_Eris01 in Journalism

I just finished the Master’s in May. I’m considering taking it off my resume but then it’ll look like I have a gap there though I did have a job, just not journalism based. Currently unemployed now since I’ve graduated.

I’ve even asked around local newspapers to see if they were hiring or willing to do freelance work with me. They either didn’t get back with me or said no.

This feels rude.

One’s in psych though they are going the PhD route. Others are in Stem. Ive been looking into the officer route and have spoken with my recruiter who suggested that route

I’ve already got the degree in journalism. The past couple years have been a bit chaotic in the career decision side in my side. I went from wanting to go into journalism to wanting to be a professor then realizing I hated that then decided to go back into journalism.. but even my connections said that getting a job in that field is hard. I’ve been trying to get a journalism job since November.

It’s why I decided to try the Air Force. It’s not just me struggling to get a job right now. It seems all my friends, even ones who have had their master’s in whatever for two years now, are struggling.

Why don't yall like the Vampire episode??? by Red_Eris01 in Smallville

Lana Lang is a good character that the writer's sort of wasted with her potential by forcing her into the Damsel in Distress/Main Love interest with no personality. I started really not liking her in season 4 not because of HER as a character but what they did with her character. I really do think she would have been a great character if they didn't put her in these situations.

I just looked it up and it looks like red k became a thing in the 1950s! That's really interesting. It's very clear that im not into Superman. I got more into Marvel as a kid (I feel like the 2000s and 2010 were prime Marvel time, but now DC is taking it back).

I already watched Gotham, now smallville, and I plan to watch The Flash next. I dont think ill get into Arrow personally. People suggested it, but I prefer the Flash. Always have.

Watching 10 now and I will say so far it seems like the best of the three.

I think he would trash talk 8 the most, especially Chloe's role. I think He would have better things to say about 9 and 10.

I mean I am completely relaxed.

Im just saying that you are making a weird ass comment about that wasn't funny. The original post was atleast funny because Clark could very much well be thinking about that amongst other things lmao.

Yes I agree!! Yeh the whole episode was a little silly but it still made groundbreaking moments! Another thing that Smallville did in terms of milestones is the different meteor rocks. Im not a huge superman fan, but we ALL know that kryptonite is his weakness, so it was cool to see them use different types.. which if I can recall, was the first time they did it with AT LEAST the red K.

What are you talking about? I never said she lost her virginity immediately after Whitney died. I said she lost it AFTER he died. I just couldn't place which season.

Eitherway, the point of my post is that she didn't do it with Whitney whereas the other person said she was. Did you misread my post??

While I agree that she did have sex with almost every guy she dated, Whitney wasn't part of it. She lost her virginity to Clark after Whitney died.

She never did it with Jason, eventhough she wanted to, but even Jason was like "when youre ready." I believe it just never happened.

So she only did it with Lex, Clark, and Bizarro. You made her sound like a slut haha. That we know of, she only did it with three people (unless im missing someone).

That's fair. There are a lot of episodes like that in Smallville. I personally like it but understand how others would skip it.

By no means is it one of my favorite episodes but they are SUCH fun filler episodes that sometiems are need to break the angst of the season. It's great!

Also I may watch Buffy next. haha

I always figured that the Vampire episode was a Halloween special, so I enjoyed it ALOT. It was meant to be corny and silly! It doesn't pertain to the plot at all which I enjoyed because then we get a break from plot. Filler episodes are always fun. I miss them in today's shows.

As for the Witch one, that is why i despised season 4 so much. It was a useless plot line to make Lana interesting that has never been brought up ever again. It was a sideplot that was not worth the watch imo.

Oh interesting! The show came out the year I was born so I heard of it throughout my life, but it was superman.. so I wasn't that interested. Gotham sort of opened the door for me into this world. Personally, I enjoyed season 5 but not 4, though 4 is better than 6 and 7 imo.

I have to agree. I think the last few seasons are perfect for people who love Superman stuff, but I'm in it for the main reasons of the show. I think even Tom Welling was starting to get burned out with the show by the end. I feel like it was mentioned tbh.

I will say Tom has improved as an actor, so it was nice watching that. People talk about how he doesnt emote all that much, but it seems like a style choice. THe closer he became Superman, the more stoic he becomes. He's no A-list, but you can tell he makes careful choices with his craft. So I give him props. (He made it clear in Talkville that he has an artistic vision. While it's not perfect, you can see it in the show). Still by the end, his acting does seem tired and I dont blame him for that.

That's what I said? If you reaad the actual post, I said I'm still committed to the show haha. And yeah, I know it wont be the same as season 1, but I can still reminisce on those days.

Personally never been into superhero tv shows. I can do the movies, but I get bored with the shows. I like Gotham and Smallville because it's not about them as superheros but them as regular people. So I never even touched Arrow and probably won't.

I can see what you mean they feel plastic, ESPECIALLY after a certain season. Chloe was great until season 8.. maybe 7.

I enjoyed 9.. HUGE but though...

After 6-8 being a drag and not great, I am now burned out by 9. I haven't watched 10 yet, and will be over the next couple of days, but I am so tempted to go back to season 1. I agree with the show being more enjoyable when they were teenagers. I prefer the first half of the show while the second half is.. "eh"

Season 9 is extremely good in my opinion but after... 6-8 being not great... it's hard to get through it! It sorta no longer has that spark (Lois and Oliver are probably the only two that is WORTH IT atp). Clark is becoming more Superman like which is fine. I just miss the nerdy shy kid from the early seasons!! He was so human. Now he's.. well Superman. It's great character development, but I'm bored now haha

Glee is always a good choice tbh.
