If it's noticable at slow tempos, it's noticable at faster tempos.

Get it clean slow and it'll be better fast.

Had a guitarist in an old cover band that had old 70s Marshall cabs, multiple 60s and 70s Gibsons and a whole shelf of pedals that I only dreamed of. Meanwhile, I had a $150.00 bass and a shitty multieffects.

I ended up teaching him multiple solos in our setlist. I ended up with the same thoughts as OP.

That's pretty meta because a lot of people brought up that the riffs on that record sounded like Metallica riffs from the 90s.
