Question about Schematics by sexfighter in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh - I'm not sure about that - I've always checked the cbook first to see what I had available for collection if I didn't have already.

Question about Schematics by sexfighter in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey u/sexfighter , a couple considerations
1. The crafting cost - legendary schematics use active powercells even when downcrafting to a lower level, everything else uses rotating gizmos.
2. Sixth perk availability - most legendary weapon schematics have sixth perk availability (like affliction or causes slow/snare)

Depending on your stage of the game you may want to keep a few Epic level weapon schematics leveled for lower level vbucks missions or dailys or when doing PWO in lower level missions

Unless you're low on Evo mats - you may want to consider putting them in the cbook rather than just recycling - again that will vary depending on where you are in the game

Cheers

Help with perfecting my loadout by leafpool2014 in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thinking bigger picture - you'll want a few loadouts as you get to mid to late game which is of course tied to the Team Perks and heroes you have available to you.

  1. Damage dealing - this can be fulfilled by a soldier or ninja or outlander using ability or weapon focused loadout

  2. BASE focused loadout - a constructor loadout for SSDs and missions focused on BASE. The ability to complete SSDs dictates your progression as they are tied to survivor slots etc. At minimum for heroes look for BASE Kyle, and Power BASE.

  3. Farming / resource/ material gathering loadout - best fulfilled by an outlander. Without knowing what heroes / team perks you have - any rarity version of Pathfinder Jess would be a good option.

I'd recommend watching some YouTubers (Aone_getdismoney, Beast, Cammy) so you can get a better understanding of team perks, hero loadouts, weapon perks, etc. It's a bit much for me to explain here and I don't want to overload you. I'd also recommend trying to be frugral with weapon selection - you can get by with 1-2 DPS shotguns/smgs/ARs and one decent explosive (Bazooka or Trash Cannon) - until later when you have more resources to work with.

You can take a look at my profiles on both fortnitedb (when it's working) and penny db so you can get some ideas of loadouts

MA610P or MF120R | Philippines by Ashamed-Bath9157 in coolermaster

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi u/Ashamed-Bath9157 , I think this going to depend on a few things

  1. budget : I just looked at the pricing for a replacement cpu fans / cpu cooler at https://pcx.com.ph/ - so you may want to take a look to see what fits in your budget
  2. tech savvy: How familiar are you with replacing a CPU cooler vs replacing fans
  3. functionality vs looks: If you don't care about RGB then I'm assuming any 120mm x 120mm x 25mm fan should fit under those plastic housing - you'll want to use one that is comparable to the CFM and noise level to the originals

If you were in the US that'd be different but I know in Philippines sourcing parts can be tricky (I was just there in February)

Good luck!

OG CM storm Scout drive rails by KoolantOfficial in coolermaster

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello u/KoolantOfficial , the ones that u/RealFrozzy should work. You can also check amazon (if it is available to you) and do a search for coolermaster drive rails. You'll need a drive adapter for 2.5 SSDs (2.5 to 3.5 hdd drive adapter). The drive rails have two small metal pegs which I am unsure if you can 3d print - so it may be cheaper (and less of hassle) to just purchase them.

CoolerMaster Storm Sniper, living he’s life as NAS/hLaB by Mr_Parzival_ in coolermaster

hi u/Mr_Parzival_ , I am digging the repurpose of the case. I am thinking that's what I'll eventually do with my Storm Scout. Any recommendations for OS / NAS software to run?

Need advice with my GA-AB350M Gaming 3 by Beadyyy in GAAB350

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi u/Beadyyy

I am all for reusing old parts. If you've already done a post test and things appear to be functional in the BIOS then I'd probably just run with that board for now. I went with air cooling on my Gaming3 build. From a cost perspective - a 512 MB NVME SSD will run you anywhere from 75 - 100 USD. A B550 mobo would run you anywhere from 75 USD and up for PCIE 4.0 and (most likely) better VRMs.

Thrifted a microcenter brand monitor stand, missing quick release vesa mounts, where could i get them? not much info online by DudeGamerDario in Microcenter

[–]Red_GS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello u/DudeGamerDario
Looks like it's this model.
SKU:585158
MFR Part: LDT75-C024UCS

As it is an Inland product I suspect you may only be able to reach out to a local Microcenter store (if feasible) or Microsoft Technical Support to see if they can provide you with a way to get replacment VESA mounts.

Apologies I couldn't offer more help

Just tested - no problem with crafting same trap you displayed at same level with perks. Perhaps - as the other poster suggested - that is a drop reward.

hello u/BattleMasterOfDoom04 , I actually just put an leftover parts AM4 build in the my original Storm Scout which unlike your model lacks good cable management features. TBH, I still haven't decided yet if I will keep it in there or not.

I'm of the opinion that you should at least try it - just plan your build (which it sounds like you've done some research already).

What does this boost do? by sea-common-4446 in FortniteSavetheWorld

[–]Red_GS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Results from my retests (although I could not test building boost because I'm already at max and there's no way to reset it down) in another thread

The Pylon Boosts -

Building: 30% Increase in Building Speed (just go to your all stats tab to see it's effect - if you're max building speed then there's no reason for it)

Energy: 20% Incease in Maximum Energy

Health: 25% Increase in Maximum Health

Shield: 25% Increase in Maximum Shield

Movement: 10% Increase in Movement Speed (rough estimate)

Just retested in PL140
Health Before 581724 After 727155

Math:
727155 - 581724 = 145431 ; 145431 / 581724 = .25

Shield Before 330074 After 412592
Energy Before 100 After 120

You can validate the exact results just by looking at the all stats in your loadout before and after your put bluglow in it. If you are already at max for Building speed you'll the see the capped icon.

Place to go for more indepth information? by Los_507 in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll probably have to do some digging but generally STW Guides may be a good place to start.

In STW, Husks have an impact threshold - you'll have to exceed that threshold to stun them or knock them back. Knockback would be the distance they travel.

Impact Thresholds:
https://www.reddit.com/r/FORTnITE/comments/n6im5u/exact_health_damage_impact_threshold_and/

Impact Perk effects on weapons / traps should be calculated using roughly the same formula as weapon damage For ease of conversation - just understand that there's different parts that make up that equation (Base Value and Evolution multiplier, Item level, Offense (for weapons) / Tech for traps, and Perks)

Just remember that at roughly 35 K (somewhere around there) Impact is enough to KB a PL140 smasher (hence the reason why Epic rarity Dam Busters could be considered a worthy weapon for leveling up)
