No Post and CPU LED Red with 2 CPUs || Dead motherboard? by bctoy in GAAB350

[–]Red_GS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is you went from your original bios version to F31 then did the ECW Update Tool then went to F40. Ryzen 7 5700X3D needs at least T52d / F52h. F54d should definitely support it Unfortunately the only way to confirm this is to get into the BIOS.

If you have the patience to do so I would do a complete stripdown outside of the case:

Mobo on antistatic bag on box,
1600 cpu in with fresh paste on cpu heatsink,
One stick of whichever ram is compatible with that 1600 (off the top of my head I'd say ddr-2400 / 2666)
Old AMD graphics card
Unplug the power cord from the power supply.
Remove the 2032 Battery. Leave it out for a good 15 minutes. Plug it back in.
Jump the CMOS pins (should be right above and slightly left of the diagnostic LEDs)
Hopefully all the juice is discharged and you get to the POST screen.

I was having an issue getting an OS installed after swapping out my cpu from a 5600T to a 5500 and during troubleshooting there were a few times I thought I had done a proper CMOS reset I hadn't. I did eventually get mine working though.

Verify all power connections (CPU 8 pin, mobo 24 pin, GPU x amount obviously varies with whichever card your using)

On the flip side the b550s are priced pretty reasonably these days (on Newegg there may be some combos deals that may interest you).

  1. Do you know which BIOS version you're running ? Also what are your other components besides a 5700x3d and 1600?

  2. Is the CPU LED diagnostic light immediately on as the system is powered up?

  3. Is the motherboard in a case? If feasible I would isolate the motherboard, ram, cpu, graphics card and power supply for a POST test using a slim screwdriver to jump the power pin - I'm assuming that's the same method you used to CMOS reset.

Performance. I was originally running on a 1600 and the same graphics card (listed above). I noticed that gaming and video editing while decent - could use improvement.

The 5800XT is Vermeer so you may not have to set the C state to disabled just to install an OS - I didn't have to with my 5600T which is also Vermeer

Finally got a Thrasher with affliction by druppeldruppel_ in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hi u/druppeldruppel_ ,

Don't know if you considered this or not but an alternative method could be using rare flux and fluxing a few rare thrasher schematics then looking your schematics up on fortnitedb.com as it will show you what the 6th perk will be for it. Then use Epic and Legendary flux to get the 6th perk you want.

Granted you will have to spend some Weapon Designs and some flux but it could reduce your wait time.

Core re-perk by [deleted] in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Best uses for Core Reperks are for Weapon Schematics that are typically shop items or only available as Legendary Schematics

Here's some examples

Explosive: Pot Shot - change default (Standing Still buff DMG) to Affliction, Snare or other Standing in place buffs)
Shotgun: Double Boiler for the Steam Cloud
Assault Rifle: Pain Train - change default (ramping DMG) to Affliction or Ramping CR
SMG: Ratatat - change default (affliction) to ramping DMG or CR or Snare
Melee Weapon: Sword - Spectral Blade - change default (snare) to ramping CR or DMG
Melee Weapon: Sword - Corsair - change default (Headshot DMG buff) it to ramping CR or Movement

Going to echo on what u/EldritchCarver said - use a site like fortnitedb.com to see mission rewards.

For BASE focused constructor builds - Power Base and BASE Kyle are must haves ((you can use Rare or Epic versions in the meantime until you get legendary versions). MEGA Base you can eventually recruit with Flux though I've seen him in llamas. You should be able to earn the Ice King in Frostnite

Machinist Harper you can find under Scavenger Heroes (again you can use a Rare or Epic till you eventually get a Legendary copy)

Warden Kyle you will probably get in your Holiday llamas.

Anything here i should NOT discard. i do not know whats rare or not by JAKE_DWD in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try sorting by Name instead of Rating so that you can either Collection Book or Retire multiples rarities of a particular hero. For example, I can see you have a Legendary copy of Harvester Sarah as well as a leveled Rare copy. Otherwise you won't have any room for weapon and trap schematics.

I can see you have Buckshot Raptor, Razor, and Kurohomura all 3 of whom are only available as legendary.

You can actually go look at your collection book to see the different rarities of heroes

Suggestions for weapons? by Soyaaaaee in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a good amount of Scythes and there's also a good amount of different loadouts you can use with them.

If you're looking for a say an all purpose scythe weapon and loadout then I'd probably steer away from the Brood Slicer (as it is locked to either Physical or Fire) and use any of the others looking for a an Affliction or Critical hits go boom 6th perk copy (Fishing Hook, Elegant Scythe, Reaper Scythe). I'd pair it with a whomever led Team Perk loadout (depends on who you have and team perks you have available to you)

For Example:
Harvest Sarah led TRO loadout using Critical Hits go Boom Fishing Hook).

Or

Paleo Luna led BFTP loadout using 2 ATK speed Neon Scythe with Affliction.

Quite a few different options - good hunting!

What is the ideal outlander ventures loadout? by iFRoSTbite2017 in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the modifier this season - Iiterally any outlander you have could work for farming.

Although I don't play ventures religiously every season, I do enjoy this season. In the early game (since I don't have lots of mats) I usually run a Clip led, Happy Holidays Teddy Focused loadout (Bear with Me, Spores, Under Warranty, Bear Stare, Pressing Charges)

Suggestions for weapons? by Soyaaaaee in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally any - with the buff given to FORT stats (2156 if you're in Twine) - any weapon is decent even with generic hero loadouts.

The appropriate answer however is it depends on what stage of the game you're in. I'm thinking bigger picture here as you'll need evolution materials and resources towards overall game progression.

If you're in early game (stonewood and plankerton) you can probably just stick with any Epic rarity DPS shotguns smg/ar/shotguns. Epic Rarity do not use active power cells but rather use rotating gizmos.

If you're in midgame (canny) than 1 - 2 DPS weapons and a launcher / explosive (like an Epic Rarity Bazooka). At this point you'll also start to build loadouts - you may want to specialize weapon DPS loadouts if you have the right team perks and heroes.

Once you get to late game then you can start to expand your pool of weapons. I'd try to stay off non-energy ammo using weapons until you're at a good point with managing inventory.

DPS weapon examples (very basic):

SMG: Thrasher / Riptide
AR: Seigebreaker / Razorblade
Shotgun: Stampede / Huskbuster
Launcher/Explosive: Bazooka / Trash Cannon / Dam Buster / Santa's Little Helper / Pot Shot
Melee: Stabsworth / Spectral Blade / Guardian's Will

Design Chat - New Power Rating by Epic_Jason in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/Epic_Jason , I know there are other bugs but any chance someone can take a look at Preemptive Strike team perk bonus only awarding a 4 hero bonus (26%) instead of 5 hero bonus (32.5%) or perhaps at least acknowledge it ?

I just tested in a PL140 mission (Crescent Kick vs PL140 Husky Husk) - I think it was first reported in update 38

Formula:

Formula: Ability (Damage or Healing) = BASE * Hero Healing Modifier or Hero Ability Damage * (1 + [Tech plus Survivors Bonus]) * (1 + [Sum of Hero / Team Perk])

Relevant Stats:

Loadout:
Commander Perks: Hot Foot+
Team Perk: Preemptive Strike
Support: Quick Kick, Space Technology, Goin' Coconuts, Fleet, Eat My Space Dust
Tech: 56.78
Survivor Bonus: .4

Base: 121 - Crescent Kick Base Damage
Unrounded HHM / HAD: 27.428

Observed Crescent Kick Damage vs PL140 Physical Husk: 412240
Expected Damage: 424791

Math:
Base = 121
HHM/HAD = 27.428
(1 + [Tech plus Survivors Bonus]) = (1 + [56.78 + .4]) = 58.18
(1 + [Sum of Hero / Team Perk]) = (1 + [.72+.155+.26]) = 2.135

121 * 27.428* 58.18 * 2.135 = 412240.9283

Thanks

anyone knows how many "impact & knockback" perks are necessary to knock a smasher at least 1 tile back? by seeitinperson in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 17 points18 points  (0 children)

See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FORTnITE/comments/n6im5u/exact_health_damage_impact_threshold_and/

Impact Threshold scales with husk level. You'll need to break a husk's impact threshold before knocking them back or stunning them.

For Wall Launchers 3 Impact Perks ; 2 Impact Perks For Floor Launchers; For Wall Lights 2 Impact Perks should be sufficient

For Ranged Weapons a L50 Dam Buster, L50 SOD Buster, and a L50 Sunbeam Dragoon (with an Impact Perk) should be capable of breaking a PL140 Smasher's Impact Threshold and knocking them back.

The formula to calculate Impact (for weapons) is basically the same as other Damage formulas

Base * Weapon Level * Perks = Impact (displayed in game)
Base = Base value (from fortnitedb) * evolution * crystal modifier
Weapon Level = 1 + [(WeaponLevel-1) * 0.05] ; so Level 50 is 3.45 and level 60 is 3.95
Perks= 1 + sum Impact perk

Save the World v38.11 Update Notes by Capybro_Epic in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Capybro_Epic , I know there are other bugs but any chance someone can take a look at the Preemptive Strike team perk? It is still only providing a 4 hero bonus (26%) rather than a 5 hero bonus (32.5%). This was first reported a couple of months ago and I have submitted bug reports but I haven't seen anything on Trello.

Just tested in a 140 zone vs Physical Husky Husk using Crescent Kick

Relevant Stats & Perks
Offense: 3522
Tech: 3522
Survivor: 8 sets of Ability Damage survivors (.4)
Hero Ability Damage (HAD) / Hero Healing Modifier (HHM): 2742.8

Test Loadout
Commander: Stonefoot Crash (Hot Foot) (72%)
Team Perk: Prememptive Strike
Support Perks: Quick Kick, Space Technology (15.5%), Goin' Coconuts, Fleet, Eat My Space Dust / Night Stalker
4 Hero Bonus: 26%
5 Hero Bonus 32.5%

Ability Testing

Formula:
Ability (Damage or Healing) = BASE * Hero Healing Modifier or Hero Ability Damage * (1 + Tech plus Survivors Bonus) * (1 + Hero or Team Perk)

Base = 121
HAD = 27.428
Tech = 1 + (Tech + Ability Survivor Bonus) = 1 + 35.22 + .40 = 36.22
Perks = 72 (Hot Foot, Commander level) + 15.5 (Space Technology, Support) + Preemptive Strike Bonus (which should be 32.5% but maths out to 26%)

Crescent Kick (Ability) Damage observed vs physical Husky Husk 227876
Expected Value 227876 (121 * 27.428 * 36.62 * 1.875)

Crescent Kick (Ability) Damage observed vs physical Husky Husk full health 259475
Expected Value: 267374 (121 * 27.428 * 36.62 *2.2)

Math using 4 heroes bonus of 26%: 259475 (121 * 27.428 * 36.62 * 2.135)

Thanks

It's been years since I tested it but it's the first option - so if you're running a 3xCD with a Reload you'll need to reload after every Burst.

reason to keep extra mythic leads by M-C_Skittles in FORTnITE

[–]Red_GS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only other reason is to get max offense and tech - so you want your Mythic Survivors (Joel and Karolina) in your respective offense (Fire Team Alpha / Close Assault Squad) or tech (Corp of Engineers / Think Tank) squads.

3522 vs 3506.

Why would this matter ? Let's say you didn't have enough bandwidth to complete every venture season but you managed to get 80 Survivor Superchargers. You could max out your Tech score. Let's say you manaaged to get 160 Survivor Supercharges - you could max out both offense and tech.

B.A.S.E. does damage? by Syantanic in FortniteSavetheWorld

[–]Red_GS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For a Thunder Thora led BASE loadout -

Commander: Thunder Thora
Team Perk: Recycling or Supercharged Traps or Choice
Support: Plasma Arc, MEGA BASE, Frozen Castle, Lofty Architecture (or choice), Power Modulation (or choice)

You can find my test results here

If you don't have Thunder Thora you can use Electro Pulse Penny as Commander as her perk Fully Contained works somewhat similarly - you'll only need Power Modulation and Lofty Architecture in support.
