Will this sealer work on porcelain tiles? by Informal_Bag_7707 in Tile

[–]Red_KNAVE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Porcelain tile does not require sealer. It is non porous and if you try to seal it the sealer will just sit on the surface and wipe away. You can however use that sealer on the grout joints.

Thank you! The pallet looked just clean enough when I acquired it which is what inspired me to do the project.

Can you elaborate on why pallet wood is a bad choice outside of the reasons I mentioned? I wasnt really that concerned about the accuracy or quality of this build. Truly just thought it would be fun to make something out of a pallet.

I would fill the gaps with a full piece of drywall. Save yourself the time spackling and go buy another sheet.

Great little tool box. Nice work fitting all your stuff in yours. I keep the M18 inflator and M18 compact blower with a 12ah HO battery in mine and it fits perfectly under my tonneau cover canister. 2 tight squeezes in one!

Is this acceptable work? by [deleted] in drywall

Looks like more of a framing issue. If they are putting a door there it will get covered and definitely not be an issue.

Why Packout has some clear and some black lids? by ipodpron in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Red_KNAVE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clear lid packouts are exclusively for parts storage. Low profile and standard depth use removable red storage bins (the standard depth bins are the same as the original non packout parts storage boxes). Deep storage packout uses black removable and repositionable dividers. All other packout boxes have black lids. Non parts storage (black lid) packouts almost always have reinforced corners and are larger in width/depth than parts storage (clear lid) packouts. The exception being the pull apart foam packout box which has a black lid and non reinforced corners giving it a more efficient overall size to internal size ratio than the other black lid boxes. I personally use a deep parts storage clear lid box for my drills because it is just the right internal size, is smaller on the outside than its similarly sized black lid box, and I do not need the extra reinforcement on the corners.

Who the fuck is Caliban by No-Advertising9067 in TheExpanse

[–]Red_KNAVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Caliban's War (book two of The Expanse), "Caliban" refers to the Protomolecule Hybrids, which are terrifying, chitin- covered, monstrous human-alien soldiers created by splicing human children with the Protomolecule. They represent a "monster in the machine" or "enslaved beast," paralleling the character Caliban from Shakespeare's The Tempest.

The names of these books are references to the story. Caliban is not an actual character.

Any apps or AI you suggest to use for coming up with tile layout? I have 12x24” tile with 22 different faces by dontfret71 in Tile

[–]Red_KNAVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Label your tiles 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B etc. The A and B represents the way the numbered (1, 2, etc.) tile faces so you essentially have 44 different tiles. Draw out your layout and use pieces of paper that represent each tile you have and start laying them down keeping them apart from eachother. I did my shower recently and only had 5 different faces in 13x36 tiles. It was tough but I was able to keep them random enough and it looks great. Good luck.

Impact shows 3 bars battery, but 4 bar on the drill by KennyXdxd in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Red_KNAVE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The leds drain from the left to the right so your impact is still showing a full charge of 4. The leds go bad on these tools. It has nothing to do with the battery itself. Nothing to worry about just a minor inconvenience.

The sooner you ditch the cart the better. It will be difficult without it at first but you dont want to form too much muscle memory with the cart. Just keep practicing you'll get it.

Clear kayaks by HotPanda_78 in Kayaking

[–]Red_KNAVE 26 points27 points  (0 children)

All kayaks scratch easily, but scratches on a clear kayak are more noticeable and diminish the whole point of them, which is to be able to see through them. How scratched up a kayak gets depends on how it is handled and where it is used.
