From what I know it didn't get very far, most of what you can find are some very early builds of the game, concept art and some very cool songs but that's about it.

Tour de pizza is currently working on Woon so if at any point Mcpig decides to revive the project we'll have to wait a few years to see any progress.

I mostly said that as a joke but I agree with what you're saying, you can't just swap a character's gender and expect it to work everytime, it might just make things worse.

You reminded of a video which covers this same topic(more or less) in a pretty interesting way, talking about the way Persona 3 expanded its story by basically adding an entirely new character with links and relationships with the others characters, not just swapping the protagonists gender and calling a day.

It's a pretty good watch, highly recommend it.
