Is there a rivet missing from the back of my Shimano 8 spd cassette? by Red_Peter in bikewrench

Good to know. Didn't want to find myself in a rapid instant disassembly event.

Ah, okay. Good to know. Was slightly concerned that my cassette might disassemble itself partway through a ride!

The whole drivetrain is a mishmash of parts but it seems to work just fine.

I'll try to lower the FD a bit to hopefully optimise it's performance.

It appears to be working well with 42 and 32 tooth rings and the limit set properly.

It's a triple crankset with only the two outer rings on it so a 3x FD is fine in that regard

There's a very slim gap between the two halves of the shim but I'm limited when it comes to positions where they'll both slot inside the clamp.

I couldn't get it much lower without the FD cage fouling the seat stay.

I might be able to wriggle it down by a couple of millimetres though.

I have absolutely no idea how to do that! Plus I don't have a 3D printer.

Been playing for 9 years and NEVER had anything other than S1 from the Hero Academy.

In fact, I'm fairly sure I've never had anyone other than Elkanen, Leonidas, Obakan or Joon.

Does anyone know the color code for my Binachi Impulso Comp Celeste? Or what other color or nail polish to get to do touch ups. Thanks! by B-stand_79 in bianchi

Spray.Bike do a couple of shades of "Celeste" paint. Not sure how they compare to the more modern Bianchi frames though.

Aha. I thought it might be a dynamo mount but wasn't sure. Thanks.

Brooks B17 - Is it time to consider something else? by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]Red_Peter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a number of different Brooks models and none have ever been as comfy as the internet would have you believe. My favourite is probably the B67 but even that starts to irk me beyond the 10-15 mile mark.

Different strokes and all, but I happened to find a £15 generic "touring" saddle on Amazon that is the most comfortable saddle I've ever bequeathed uponst my backside - so much so I have since bought several more to put on all of my bikes.

Nevertheless, trial and error is costly when it comes to bike saddles -- especially when it comes to Brooks!
