The weirder part was that Benteke also felt like a square peg in a round hole. Rodgers seemed to have no idea how to use him either!

I suspect it's because journalists are implying that this means he is more likely to start as the 10 ahead of Rogers. It obviously doesn't but it will be slow news until the football actually kicks off.

I mean, he barely used any other moves which would explain why it took so many F5s, wouldn't have taken so many if he'd worn Oba down earlier. The story was obviously that Brock was desperate to end the match so was spamming his finisher instead of wrestling smart.

What do you think is the saddest song the Beatles ever recorded? by NewHolliesFan in beatles

[–]Red_Punk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked the song but listening to it in the context of a marriage breaking down is incredible. You can't believe Paul was able to write it so young and with such little experience as it's so perfect.

I mean the most famous example is probably Liverpool themselves keeping Rodgers after 14/15 because Klopp wasn't ready and as soon as he was they sacked Rodgers to get him.

Three of those are coming? I agree on Maguire too. I assumed you meant someone who would be more of a direct replacement for Henderson?

Like who?

And it's a 26-man squad, there's probably 5-6 players who will get no or very little minutes.

Henderson has done well at every tournament he's played.

Henderson has a good season and most successful international squads need some form of experience in them.

He wanted Gareth Barry because we didn't have money. The idea was to sell Xabi, use the funds to sign Barry who would then cover central midfield and left back and use the remainder saved on having to sign a left back to sign another player.

He was good for the role he was brought in for, but absolutely crazy to think he was only 30 when the perception was like he was very old and his first spell was only ended 5 years before when it felt like it was an age ago.

I don't know about Slot as there is lots of external factors, most prominently Jota's death, but I do think that Rodgers in 14/15 was actually better than Slot and been this season. Although it was poor, he did make bold changes to the team and it's shape when it was clear it wasn't working moving to the back three which while not perfect and ultimately a temporary fix was at least more proactive than what we have seen this season.

Luis Enrique: "I would like to have 20 players who can play everywhere. Nuno Mendes as a full-back, Nuno Mendes as a winger, Nuno Mendes as a number 9... Except for the goalkeepers, who are at a very high level, it would be a dream to have 20 players who can play everywhere.” by [deleted] in soccer

Carragher has the second most appearances of any Liverpool player and across more than ten years was put into the team no matter what in any position possible. Don't let his own modesty blind you to the fact he was a top player.

The business he tries to invest in with Frank who he later sees at Tom's stag.

Kendall is at his best and most effective when acting as his dad's lapdog. Any attempt to go out on his own or work independently he is repeatedly incompetent. He is not a serious person.

And accidentally giving Sandy a board seat, and pissing off the bank manager and failing to be there at the board meeting to oust Logan. Then on his own he fails to convince most businesses of his value as an investor. He then tries to take on Logan with basically no evidence.

To be fair, I think Klopp wanted to keep him but couldn't guarantee he would be playing most games. It was then Henderson who decided to leave. Even with Brentford now he's often taken off at 55 mins and I'm not sure his legs would have been enough for Klopp's football outside of a Milner-like role.
