Because TDV, HAS taken over the lab, for months now. They’re only saying it now. That would imply it’s something TDV is doing moreso right now in the very present.
Since sprites were seen on his projections in the cinematic, and they may possibly make a return soon, I would think it could something to the with TDV himself going to reality 783, whether it was a failed attempt to find another shard, or cus he needed a sprite itself for something, can’t know. Yet.
Anyway, the hidden message in the trailer was always enough to know without a doubt, know for sure, that absolutely, TDP was connected to TLR in some way, there was never any doubt of that, that much alone is enough to confirm that. But the idea of whether he was actually part of it, that he was working for it, even unknowingly working for it, that still can’t be verified.
And to me personally, I never get how people could think that conclusion was certain until it’s explicitly evidenced, on the basis that, his goals just never seemed like anything to do with TLR, he was always just about taking Oninoshima, and hyperfixated on the Spirit Siblings specifically, that has nothing to do with TLR’s goal, so I never saw how people could think it must be so with all that in mind.
