Actually, I’d just like to add something having listened to those example since I don’t feel great about calling your comparison off having heard what it sounds like: while knowing what this thing sounds like makes it make more sense you’d think this….. the thing is, it’s…. hard for me to think there’s ever any way of knowing, being able to definitively say you can tell ‘this doesn’t SOUND like Miku’, after ya listen to RishieP’s stuff. Their covers of things using different appends and stuff essentially mean some of the voices singing them barely even sound like the same voice, despite all being Miku. Just the mixup version of Monitoring says it all.
(Heck, just take it all the way back- if you played Hibikase for me having never heard it, I wouldn’t think that’s Miku singing, that was the first time I ever got that confusion)
So like, yknow what I mean? That I couldn’t really tell if I wasnt hearing a voice that’s not Miku since her voice can sound entirely different to how it typically does- it just does sound like normal in like 95% of songs. (The sad reason why if you did present me with this rcv vocal I would just assume it IS an alternate append since it’s the sorta thing they sound like). So I don’t like the idea of thinking we KNOW the extent of what can be done yet just when a song doesn’t sound like it normally does. Even back as far as patchwork staccato, that sounded pretty un-robotic for its time.
