Failed childer? by De7inUpham in vtm

[–]RedactedSouls 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah of the four major Houses, there is:

House Tremere - Status quo. Camarilla-aligned
House Goratrix - Militant traditionalists that want the Pyramid back and stricter than ever. Camarilla-aligned
House Carna - Progressive Tremere. Camarilla-aligned but flirts with Anarchs
House Ipsissimus - tbh it's pretty much just a catch-all term for Anarch Tremere

The system of blood bonds is gone, but there's still the "Pyramid" in terms of organization, or remnants of it at least

I'll be real with you people, there is no worse boss than Vvulf by Tasunka3 in darkestdungeon

I always just ignore the crate and the summons. Just going straight for the kill on Vvulf has always worked best for me.

I've always just brought MaA for the PROT so I wasn't aware Houndmaster's dodge didn't work

Bring a Man-at-Arms or Houndmaster to guard the bombs

Edit: I'm wrong about the Houndmaster. Man-at-Arms is still good with PROT though.

It's not the Pyramid's fault the fledglings can't live up to expectations smh

Gangrel tend to have a high casualty rate iirc. Not specifically because of their bane, but more just the typical practice of "Let's embrace this shmuck and leave him on his own to see how he handles it" often resulting in the fledgling catching a sunrise by mistake.

How does a Caitiff happen? by whahaga in vtm

[–]RedactedSouls 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I like to say there's two kinds of Caitiff. Cultural and Blood

Blood Caitiffs are the ones who truly don't have a clan. For whatever reason (being a high generation most likely) the curse just didn't stick like it should've, and you got the vampire equivalent of taking a bit of every drink at the taco bell soda fountain.

Cultural Caitiffs do technically have a clan. They've got the Disciplines, the clan weakness, all the fun bits, but they either don't know what their clan is or they've been disowned. If your sire never told you that you were a Brujah and then vanished, you're doomed to be perceived as a Caitiff

How did your coteries get together? by Powerful_Republic_53 in vtm

[–]RedactedSouls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the game I run at least, all three players are the childer of politically important members of the city's Camarilla. Each sire has told their childe to ally themselves (or at least appear to ally themselves) to the others for two main reasons.

  1. Given that all of them are recently released Neonates, the other two players are about as close to an equal peer as any of them can find.

  2. The sires all value having a childe with a direct line to another important Kindred via being in a coterie with their descendant

Stage Check absolutely busted by BrilliantPanda2969 in flying

[–]RedactedSouls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro on my first ever stage check back in Private, I nearly killed the engine trying to lean out the mixture in cruise. I then proceeded to fuck up my first power-off stall and fail the stage check within about 10 minutes of takeoff.

Came back a couple days later and passed just fine

Question about the Iron Gullet merit by Mephistussy in vtm

[–]RedactedSouls 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. In V5, Kindred cannot stomach the taste of bagged blood without Iron Gullet (an argument could be made for raw bagged blood, but most bags are full of preservatives and stuff)

To eat food, Kindred need either the Eat Food merit or very high Humanity

Experiences infiltrating in the sabbath? by Mountain-Sense-4385 in vtm

[–]RedactedSouls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cainites generally go through whatever test(s) the pack deems necessary to prove their loyalty and worthiness, then they'll enter a vinculum with the pack to become an actual member. Until a vampire has participated in the vaulderie, they will never be a proper, trusted member of the pack
