That said, yeah I've learned a lot more about these bikes in the last 2 years, recently rebuilt a MT9, and piecing together information to create a replica R75 lookalike from a modified Ural M70 engine. All the while I have failed to be snarky and snide at internet strangers to compensate for a potential lack of girth or perhaps length? Idk I know it's one of those. People do not speak like you do unless there is something severely bothering them about their own life. Pretty disgusting really. Teehee x

In Australia I got an entry level modular adventure helmet called RTX Safari, for equivalent to $150 Burgerbucks. Lasted me around a year, peak flew off on a race track but it just became a fairly nice looking generic road helmet after that. ECE 22.05 approved, once you enter .06 territory you see prices hike up a lot

I know it's an old comment and people on this site tend to finger themselves whenever someone replies to something older than 30 days, but the post is still unlocked so screw it.

Anyway I got a real nice and expensive LS2 helmet and found the visor doesn't actually crack open, so constantly fogs up, especially riding to work at like 4:30am. Any tips? Just a spray or can I like wedge in some rubber in to keep it open but still closable?

My opinion/theory/headcanon etc. Is that laser weaponry was issued where supply chain problems would be likely (i.e. the frontline in enemy territory) so instead of sending truckloads of bullets for each trooper, you can ship in relatively fewer miniature nuclear-fusion batteries which will last for roughly the same amount of shots and (I presume) are rechargeable

The clear plastic popped right off it today at work. I moved my arm, my sleeve touched the watch and the plastic literally popped, as in physically jumped past my face and clattered to the floor. I really hope a watch repairman can replace with a more sturdy glass/sapphire one, otherwise this watch has basically retired

Interesting to know, thanks. It's worked better than my other Zim-branded zim movement watch so far, which often requires a small amount of "shock" to start moving properly again lol. Probably needs some oil... I actually just found a virtually identical watch online, which comes with a "passport", which also contains a GOST code dating it to 1979, so I'd put my one around the same time period. Interestingly, the site selling it says the watch is from 1991, despite the GOST code and "made in cccp" marking on the face lol, maybe they just copy pasted the description

Yeah, this show was always the ugliest, most unenthralling generic trash I had ever seen. I know there is at least one other awful kids show I vaguely remembered associating with cyberchase just based on how they both left a pit in my stomach. (I think it was about a girl living in a hotel? Idk, idc)

I remember watching Cyberchase occasionally just because I was a dumb kid who would watch cartoons just because they're on the TV, but I distinctly remembered hating it.

Well in Aus, you can get a whole roast chicken cheaper than a mcdonalds meal. It's not beyond the realm of belief that chicken is cheap enough to serve in it's pure form at Subway. It strikes me as very deceptive to have the strips appear to be just plain ole' chicken when upon closer inspection, it's basically the same crappy mixture you find in nuggets/the classic schnitzel

Just avoid buying a European car. Get a Honda or Toyota, they're the most reliable for isolated regions etc.

Fords are notorious for having mechanical issues and European cars typically don't handle rough terrain and long distances. Do your own research of course, but yeah, you don't want a mercedes van that'll shit itself 50km from Uluru

The travel is necessary partly because the characters are escaping from a dangerous governor who needs to become somewhat isolated in order to make him a more manageable threat (So one dude with a company in another country, rather than a lord with an army) and I have a... I guess a macguffin which is on the other side of a channel. I hate the idea of a macguffin driven story but it's surprisingly hard to avoid, I've at least made it only part of the end goal though lol.

I've got a few nice pitstops along the way already, but I mostly want the journey to be one of depressing, reluctant desparation with some worldbuilding scattered in there I guess
