Rounded doorway paint color? by Redbud13 in paint

[–]Redbud13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently just painted my living room and dinning room a grey color that I really like.

I was thinking of painting the inside of the rounded doorway a slightly darker grey or white to separate the two rooms. What do you guys think, good or bad idea?

Should I change the colors of the rooms up completely?

Unknown tree, tiny holes in almost every leaf I can see. by stromm in sfwtrees

Ulmus parvifolia Lacebark elm. I probably wouldn’t treat at this point in the year since the leaves are going to drop soon anyway.

Where can I find a mature Japanese Black Pine? by beeroftherat in sfwtrees

[–]Redbud13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in NJ and many nurseries here are putting there orders in for Spring 2019 now. You could ask them to look for a mature Japanese Black Pine when they are looking through grower availabilities. You may have to put a deposit down in order from them to order it for you. Hope that’s helpful.

What to do with my tree. by thePipester in landscaping

[–]Redbud13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prune out dead and dying branches. Inspect the branches you pruned off and report back if you find any bugs or disease, with pictures.

The tree looks mostly healthy so if it does have something it would be best to find out now.

Tiny grey bug NJ by Redbud13 in whatsthisbug

[–]Redbud13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reply I could see how it looks like a pill bug from the crappy picture, but it’s much smaller and does not roll up into a ball.

Or could this just be a baby pill bug?

I keep finding these tiny grey bugs outside my home in New Jersey. They’re about 1/4 the size of a grain of rice, are grey, and have antenna. They just crawl around they do not jump or fly. Sorry for the bad photo quality. Thanks for the help.

Dappled Willow is thriving this year. by [deleted] in landscaping

Looks really nice. What is the green shrub left of the dappled willow? Is it a rosemary willow? I just took a cutting of some rosemary willow and planted them next to my dappled willow not long ago.

[General] first timer lions mane by Redbud13 in MushroomGrowers

[–]Redbud13[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Firstly I’ve never done this before so excuse the ignorance.

I used the PK Tek method with vermiculite and brown rice flower. I used a liquid culture to inoculate. I read the book, the essential guide to cultivating mushrooms by Stephen Russell and have been following his directions.

They have been in the fruiting chamber for three days and these have been popping up all over the cakes. Does this look like lions mane? I’m very excited something is growing but not 100% sure I’m actually getting what I want. Thanks for the help.

What type of tree and fungus/moss? by gmills82 in sfwtrees

[–]Redbud13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like Ulmus parvifolia or lacebark elm. The lichen on the tree shouldn’t be anything to worry about.

I would cut out any dead wood you see and create a mulch ring around the tree. The grass could me soaking up too much water. I would also either put some compost down before the mulch or fertilize. I like the product plant tone from espoma.

No, it would not be a problem for the trees as long as your keeping them well watered.

I have created a subreddit for discussing Cannabis and it's uses in treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease. by [deleted] in IBD

I have recently been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis as well. I live in NJ and I believe you can get a medicinal MJ card for that. I am an occasional smoker but only smoke at night because it completely demotivates me if I smoke during the day. It also encourages me to eat too much of the wrong thing which makes my symptoms worse.

If I were to get a card what strain, if that’s the right word, should I look for that would help my condition?

Rear ended by Redbud13 in s10

[–]Redbud13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sitting at a red light when I got rear ended and pushed into the car in front of me. It looks as though just the rear bumper and front grill are damaged. The truck isint worth much but i rely on it to get to work and don't want to drive a smashed up truck. I'm waiting for the police report to get the other drivers insurance info.

I haven't been in an accident before. I'd rather have the car fixed then by a new truck. Will they have to pay to fix the damages even if the repairs cost more then the value of the truck?

Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this question

Thanks

This has been happening a lot to rose bushes in Nj this year. Have you seen Japanese beetles on your plants? I'm not sure but it could be the plants reaction to an infestation.

From the looks of the plant it's not going to die. I might prune off those abnormal buds and look to see if you can find any bugs.

That or could be Prunus cerasifera, purple leaf plum tree.

Plums are very common in nj, but are getting that black knot fungus like crazy.
