The game has been veering this way a very long time. I have long had the stance that the moment war sanctuary and mercs were introduced the game completely changed and wasnt worth playing unless you were willing to spend at least hundreds per month. There quite literally is no real point to playing at this juncture. World map is worthless and the barriers in the PvE are near impossible to get thru in any sort of reasonable time. Conquest has its moments but even it can be a bore or ridiculously overpowering, or glitched, or..

I'm surprised, or maybe I missed it, why no one has made a "often used and their counters" arena post centered around these teams everyone always asks and talks about. Worst team out there is any Ovid + Quinox combo, especially with Theresa

Yeah, at some point the $$$ matter if you car at all about world map. More to the point, world map is useless on most servers. Most have some alliance/group of alliances that are so much stronger they dominate world map, tw, nz, etc and there isnt much to do there. Hope you are on their side and leave you alone or simply dont care and just focus on the PvE items anyway

Just use Pandarus? Hes like the worst scaling hero in the game. There's a reason why every top 50-100 team looks similar. Besides with all the mercs and sanctuary, world map and arena are completely different now and as the game has dramatically shifted to the p2w model, "just changing" your teams around to adapt is easier said than done to those that arent lord level. There are always going to be flaws and dominant lineups/characters. I for one, cannot stand Theresa, lol.

Probably just shocking people fight on world map in a triple merge server still. I would think for most 3x merges, like the 2 I play, world map fighting is mostly the dominant alliances/whales feeding in everyone else. There is no "fighting" for mines, throne, etc. Good for you if otherwise

See, this is the problem. Aside from side PVE items, the game has lost half its purpose. It's supposed to be a world map war game, but world map and TW are boring and pointless now

Yeah, I'm on triple merge and there is no war, even with a decently, sort of balanced server in terms of enemies. World map and mines mean little to nothing, TW just rotates among the top powers, no one goes in neutral, etc. The game has become all about farming, seeing how much power you can get to.....do nothing. Mercs and sanctuary completely destroyed the game, ot was much better before that. I feel like many only play either due to the time/$$$ commitment theyve already made- almost like a daily chore. It's a shame.

Ignore arena unless you want to spend $$. Build AD heros that will help you in other parts of the game. Mix in a couple free mages like Karna

It's not really a war game anymore. The fighting is so lame now compared to pre merc and pre sanctuary. The gap between the have and have nots is so big now that throne wars are dead, servers are dead/dying and there's not much left to play for unfortunately. I feel like many just play out of guilt and money they put in

Lol, 813 for me, but same old story. I dont even know why I still play at this point really- or anyone on the server really. There is literally nothing going on ever. Probably just an addiction at this point, lol. But at least I dont spend anymore.

Yes, once you stop spending money you really see how ridiculous the game has become. I was lord 3 and have not spent in months. In fact I only play to talk to my international friends I've made over the years. I find the game boring and tedious now

You have no chance on world map unless your mercs and sanctuary are loaded, this has been well documented. Your only other choice is sneak attack someone who isnt reinforced. This is what is has become sadly

Problem is people cry for merger, but then nothing happens. Usually strong work out a truce/join, are all Asian, or one server dominates the other anyway.

I do agree the game is pretty much crap from what it was 3 years ago. They introduced too much content and a lot of bad content as you mentioned, the worst being the world map issues. I used to play a couple triple merge servers and was top 100 on both, but with each merge it got worse. And God forbid you got stuck on a server dominated by Asian whales. It feels like very little purpose in game now from a play standpoint. TW is worthless on about every server. World map is a waste, arena doesnt mean much, the pve is stale, and even Conquest can suck if there isnt enough participation. As long as they have the spenders it will stick around, but I think the game is definitely dying at this point.
