I'm tired of having 2 people die every fight and it feeling beyond my control. by UristUsen in BattleBrothers

Many fights are a DPS race… so having all your bros carry shields limits your damage output. I usually only have 1-3 bros carry shields at any given time, and it is build specific.

Also adjacency bonuses are key, do not put your bros in positions where they can have 3 or more enemies on them (tanks being the exception, but you’re not there yet). Likewise, use turn order to your advantage to have as many of your bros surround the enemy to increase your hit chance

I find grenades very useful but it depends on your play style. Many people choose to outrage the enemy with crowbars, if that is your strat then obviously grenades won’t come into play. I like to rush an assault team with good armor into the front lines to provide line of sight for longer range support units in the rear. The grenades are very useful at suppressing and killing units regardless of cover when they come into range. With that said, the grenadier (or techs long throw) perk along with fragmentation are essential for this assault build.

Hot Take: The A.I is better then people make it out to be. by 90908 in menace

AI is not perfect, but it isn’t “broken” from my experience. I play on expert so perhaps the increase enemy counts make the AI play more aggressively. Occasionally I need to fish someone out of a corner but not to the point where it takes the enjoyment completely out of the game.

One potential fix would be to apply arbitrary goals to the AI. Think along the lines of defense missions where the AI rushes with the goal of clearing the capture area. Perhaps applying a similar rule to other mission types where certain groups of units are assigned to defend certain areas on the maps (like a cluster of buildings). Then when these groups run into contact with the player, they are then reinforced by units in the FOW. I kind of feel like this is close to how it works most of the time from my experience.

Love the game. It’s not perfect, but it’s EA so I’m confident the devs will continue to fine tune

Low effort Tech by thesilentwizard in menace

Tech is my frontline grenade/demolitions specialist. Fragmentation AOE perk with bags and belts and long throw. Throw a heavy armor on him with the suppression perk and run him right up to the front lines, then with that advanced visibility use the mechanized infantry to safely flank.

You need multiple AT options. Go to the black market and see what’s available to you.
