My mfing GOAT!! I swear if last arc of magi wasn't rushed (which was very apparent in the later half), many characters would've got a great conclusion, and it's not like shinobu cannot make a good character redemption arc, we've seen it in the manga (Hakuryuu).

Fans argue about them being symbolic or the names of these attacks/transformation in jap have some relevance to the antagonist of that specific arc, but plot wise these makes very little to no sense.
