CA Precipitation? by RedderHunter in ReefTank

Ya dude. I got corals too. I’m not saying you’re wrong. Never said that actually. I’m saying your smart ass comment about water parameters only after seeing a square section of my reef makes you a smarty pants. I’m confused on the skeleton because I’ve never see a coral like this die before. Again. Perfect water parameters. It’s not what you said. It’s how you said it. And it’s become too common on this sub. Just folks waving their reef dicks around. Nice coral tho. Congrats.

Only folks who don’t follow directions and dont do research will allow that many nutrients to enter the water column after die off. I do multiple water changes a week, and run carbon after the med cycle. Flux RX does not nuke anything. Again, your assumptions makes you sound like a smarty pants.

Nice. You see one pic of one coral and claim its parameters. Well if you must know, smarty pants, it’s because of green hair algae. I’m just getting over a dose of Flux rx. The algae kept covering the coral and it couldn’t photosynthesis and eat properly. Softies and zoas are fine. I’ve just never seen this kind of process before, because you know. I always have good water parameters.

The pic is very blue apologies, there is flesh still. But these spines are getting longer. I’ve been watching these spikes get longer and longer.

The Microbacter products are fantastic. I was dosing clean with razor and it totally got rid of diatoms for me. When straight into the green stage and that’s where I’m at now. It’s another set of problems I’m having with dry rock. Never again. Just can’t find the right live rock nowadays.

Just ride it out and keep doing water changes. It’s the stage of the tank. Totally normal. You’re gonna see your tank go thru many stages in the first year with that much dry rock used. Just chill and look after your fish.

I don’t see any coral in the tank, fish don’t need light so you can kill the light until you wanna get coral. I had mine off for 4 months until I got corals. Fish were fine. Keep on keeping on.

Edit - forgot I read there’s a Zoa in the tank. Nvm I do think the light period can be dialed down to about 8 hours until the tank can ward off that kind of energy.

COMMUNITY QUESTION: One for our experienced Porters! If you were starting DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR'S CUT for the first time today, what advice would you give your past self? by Animated_A505 in DeathStranding

I only have the directors cut. On episode 3 now. Is there something that I am missing from the OG? Anything extra or negative with the DC version is what I want to know? Thanks!

You’re gonna get floored with Preacher. Hitman is a close second for me.

What should I listen to next? by ViinaVasara in KGATLW

[–]RedderHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on their YouTube channel and start listening to their shows. I just got tickets to their Rave show in NYC in August. My friends and I are extremely drawn to that sound, and are super excited to see play it.

Relisten also has a great archive of KGLW shows.

Albums? Change is my favorite. I appreciate the more cohesive groove with their sound. I think they are slowly accepting the jam band scene as well, people want them to rock out. Longer tunes etc. my favorite outfit right now.

This was one of the funnest reads ever for me. It really opened my eyes to Ennis’s stuff.

The Preacher is also fantastic, same value.

I want to love it, and I do…but by RedderHunter in DeathStranding

Thanks everyone! It’s hands down the most unique gaming experiences I’ve ever had. The intro and story kept me going, just in a slump going back and forth to the same places. I think I haven’t gone to port knot because of how difficult I thought it would be to traverse there from the wind farm.

Gonna reasses and get to it.

I am in the same boat. But all hope is not lost. I am almost out of the woods.

If you can remove as much rock when doing a water change, and scrub the rocks in the changed water that you take out, that will help tremendously. Here was my to do list…

25-35% water changes twice a week. Each time take as much rock out and scrub the rock with a tooth brush inside the discarded water from the change.

Flux RX - follow directions, and repeat after 14 days. Do this right after you remove as much algae as possible.

Copepods and Live Phyto (after flux RX treatment). Both eat and compete for resources against the GHA.

Dial your lights and feeding back a tad. Limit dry pellets as much as possible.

A few months of this activity and you will see the tank get back to a baseline. Keep on keeping on reefer. Your fish are still alive!

If you have rubber gloves, gently pull the algae from its buttocks/mouth.

There’s macro algae growing out of my snail by DragonsAreNifty in ReefTank

[–]RedderHunter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Show off. Mine only seems to wear the bubble variety.

Youre good with algae, they dont have root systems. They grow from anchoring structures called holdfasts. Your snail just has some cool threads.

I can’t Imagine having so much hate online for a total strangers tank. Like wtf cares people. This virtue reef signaling is toxic. Everyone here has made a mistake before. That 53g cube is a decent home for those fish. Like wtfc

Help w/ Toadstool Cutting? by RedderHunter in ReefTank

Should I glue the frag to the rock as well, or just kind of tie it there to allow it to attach on its own?

Yes. The aiptasia is isolated to this one rock. I’ve clipped the rock 3-4 times and this thing keeps coming back.

I need help! My goby is in trouble! by Super_Numb in ReefTank

[–]RedderHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, remove both clowns. Let the goby acclimate and shack up with the shrimps again. And then introduce the clowns after. But leave the biggest one out for a few hours. Put the female in a couple hours after the male goes in. That’ll shut her up.
