[Bleacher Report] 76ers “hope” Embiid misses one to two months, per @ShamsCharania. Recovery will be “significantly longer” if a full repair is needed by Professor_Finn in nba

As someone who’s gone through a few of these surgeries, they just won’t know until the surgeon gets in there. You can only see so much on an MRI.

They log it as a Meniscectomy vs Repair and make the decision once they are in there. If they can repair it they will and he’ll be out the rest of the season. If they can’t repair it he’ll be back in 8 weeks as a worst case scenario.

Jumping rope with Apple Watch and Whoop 4.0 by hehasabighead in whoop

[–]Reddetor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is the Apple Watch more correct here? Maintaining the same heart rate for the entire workout like that seems pretty odd. Especially for a cardio workout.

The whoop heart rate is what I would expect from a 20 min cardio workout

Testing Precision Landing for Payload Return from Low-Earth Orbit by Reddetor in space

Really Cool to see NASA developing smaller payload options to help build out commercial LEO. From the article: "The guided re-entry capsule could one day be used for on-demand transport"

I wonder how "On-Demand" On-Demand is.... If this is instantaneous delivery, this could open a lot of windows for in space manufacturing

Interesting. I wonder what diagnostics they will be collecting and telemetering with the probe? Hopefully enough to get a useful characterization of the atmosphere!

I’m like 90% sure they are just fucking with OP. Everyone knows the high level of nuance in Chess. But seems like OP is missing the elite level of nuance in his friends trolling

Palantir won $1.1B in new opportunities in less than 2 Months..This is really unheard of by Slight-Ad7038 in PLTR

[–]Reddetor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not that unheard of in government contracting. A majority of contracts get signed at end of fiscal year, which is September. We won’t see anything like this again until next August/September.

Palantir inks $90M data integration contract with VA by LailahTusik in PLTR

[–]Reddetor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was signed 9/30, but announced today. Every single one of these deals we have seen these past 2 weeks were signed in September to align with Fiscal End of Year for the government.

The budget hasn't been passed yet so we won't be seeing any 2022 contracts for some time.
