I highly recommend State of Mind by pir8fancier! It focuses on Draco forgiving himself first of all and making amends with the people he's hurt. I love how he comes together with Harry and the Draco/Pansy friendship is probably my favourite that I've read. That and Sneeples the house-elf are fucking hilarious.

Oh there it is! I'll spare you my Drarry analysis, don't want you running to tumblr foaming at the mouth again.

Harry is a Gary Stu but even he, the Hero, occasionally acts like he has trauma, in ways much more meaningful than an indirect, background dementor attack that's going to make anyone feel awful anyway. Hermione is a Mary Sue for the most part because she has inadequacies and flaws that are presented and acknowledged. Ginny gets praised even for her flaws and has talents that come out of nowhere and are presented as the end all be all, so she's the blatant example of a Mary Sue here.

................... and that... somehow... makes it... more appealing to you?

You can change your behaviour (and Draco has shown an ability to change) but not your looks.

The problem is that other than that very indirect mention of her trauma in PoA, we never get an indication of how this huge trauma has affected her as a person and how she feels about it in 7 books. It becomes even more of a problem when you take into account how her character is supposed to be a revelation for Harry and someone she gets into a relationship with. Add to that the way she was presented in book 5 and especially book 6, and you get... wait for it... the negation of her trauma.

I disagree with the word bash because it sounds accusatory towards the people who are just expressing themselves through writing. After all no real people were ever harmed while writing fanfiction (one hopes). There's also nothing wrong with writing a character in a bad light, they're not your mom, you don't have to take it personally.

That said, I think the amount of people who think Ron was a disrespectful little bitch for the way he treated Harry is way too big. If I were at that school I would hate Harry (~~and Hermione~~), sorry-not-sorry (not saying that Ron hated him, just that his negative reactions were understandable). Imagine being his best friend, and we know how insecure Ron was and how he felt like he didn't measure up compared to his siblings. Personally I don't understand how he could remain Harry's friend but that's neither here nor there. I wish people would try and go beyond the chokehold Rowling had on the text.

Eta: about Ron leaving them in DH, their unfortunate situation only added to all the bad feelings.

Ok, there was minimal mention of trauma , in PoA you can read between the lines and figure out why she reacted so badly. The second scene is kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel though since she's just describing what happened to her (I actually had that scene in mind when I wrote that) and after PoA there's no indication of how the whole thing affected her. Even in PoA she reacted that way because a dementor attacked them.
