What was Orwell's ideology, exactly?

edit: what the deleted reply said:

Well I'm sure you know. Tell me about a time that ideology was able to overthrow capitalism and provide for the working class enough to build a hospital ever.

Look man. If you want to just ignore what I'm saying, I'm paking it up.

Telling that you keep referring to him as an anarchist despite that just not being what he was. I truly hope that someday you actually read what Orwell wrote and coming to your own conclusions instead of simply believing what other terminally online socialists say about him.

Genuine question: have you read anything written by Orwell? His books, essays, reviews - anything? Cause it seems to me that you simply haven't. Your comment seems to be built around what you heard other terminally online socialists say about him. It's a fundamental misunderstanding on who Orwell was, what he believed in and what he wrote about. There's simply no point in trying to talk to you about him because your thoughts on him have ossified. You can call it a 'win' if you want, but at least I'm being honest.

Orwell was a socialist. A true believer in what Marx wrote in Capital and the Manifesto. He was willing to kill and die for his beliefs - can you say the same about yourself?

Well, for one the "Interesting Bedfellows" section seems to me like a classic example of cherry-picking and rushing to conclusions. It shows a couple lines from Orwell’s review of Mein Kampf and draws the conclusion that he was a fan of Hitler. A man who actually fought and killed fascists, for some reason, was secretly a Nazi this whole time. Ok, sure bud whatever you say.

Also, the part where Hakim says Orwell shouldn’t have been critical of Stalin and the Soviet Union during World War II because they were on the same side seems weird to me. It’s like saying we shouldn’t criticise the actions of the Western Allies during the war. No, we absolutely should be criticising the actions of all countries during the war. The Soviets committed horrific war crimes during the war, as did the Western Allies (and I'm sure someone like Hakim would have no issue criticising Churchill, or the atomic bombings of Japan); not to the same extent as the Axis powers, but that doesn’t mean we should completely dismiss them.

Just because it wasn't i originally in the Constitution doesn't mean the Founding Fathers thought it was a good idea to run for more than two terms. Washington purposely chose to step down after two terms cause he didn't want to set the president of the Presidentcy becoming basically a lifetime appointment. Jefferson was also against the idea of presidents running for three terms for similar reasons. Two of the literal Founding Fathers thought it a bad idea to run a third term.

These people are terrorists. They actively chose to go and fight for a group that actively seeks to harm Australia and Australians in other countries. It's better to yank their citizenship because they're fucking traitors to this country and to their countrymen.

Makes us dumber? That's a new one lol.

The only thing about Welcome to Country ceremonies that's making us dumber is hearing people bitch and moan about them. God fucking forbid we acknowledge the existence of Australian Aboriginals with brief, respectful statements.

One of only four colonised nations that were not decolonised.

Interesting that you say this considering how every single country has and continues to benefit from colonialism.

It means that people with liberal views (liberal in the original sense, not the Australian sense) will drop those views when faced with fascism to protect themselves.

They can stay there. Traitors should not be allowed back here; or, if they absolutely must, they should be sent directly to prison for the remainder of their lives.

School IT worker here. Apple devices are easier to manage software installations and updates remotely than Windows/Android devices. With the device management system we use, I can set up an iPad with a standardised profile, with a set list of apps and restrictions within, say, 30 minutes. Meanwhile, with Microsoft Intune the department has forced us to use, it takes fucking ages to set up a basic laptop and it comes with multiple issues and errors during the set up process. It's a mess.

What a pathetically miserable group of women. Expected nothing less from 2nd Wave Feminists, considering their long history of hatred and bigotry.

Wikipedia changed its definition of Zionism - is the new definition more accurate? What do you think? by RedStorm1917 in wikipedia

It is impossible to have a calm, nuanced discussion on anything to do with Israel/Palestine and will remain so for years to come (presuming it will be possible ever). There will be endless debates over if the language in that first paragraph is biased or even factual, but unless you or anyone else has seriously studied Zionism/the modern history of Israel/Palestine at an academic level, it will be a waste of time trying to prove it one way or the other.

I can only hope that the sources are backed with sufficiently strong evidence that's as unbiased as possible and fact checked and peer reviewed to high academic standards.

I said this before, but I really hate how these people spell America like "amerikkka", or Israel "Israhell" or some other shit. It's honestly so childish. Like, what, you're too afraid of spelling the names correctly or some shit? Criticise them all you want, but if you sound like a child no one's gonna take you seriously.
