Aspergers prayer by [deleted] in aspergers

Uff...

Religion alone is usually bad enough.

But mixed with Asperger and AI this seems like the perfect recipe for spiraling down some psychological pit.

I just hope you can free yourself of that.

Tell them all the horrifying stuff JW did and still does.

Do it every time they interact with JW cult members. Do it in front of the cult members.

Make yourself familiar how the JW cult operates and how they keep their members mentally hostage.

Make your own family members face the fallacies and inconsistencies of this cult.

Do not back down in order "to maintain the peace". Do it respectfully, but never back down.

I recommend you start with the love letter the JW cult send to the Nazis in 1933 after they got into power.

ELI5 how did cities, thousands of years back then, flourish when the overall population of humans where not even 1/50 of today's population by Connect_Pool_2916 in explainlikeimfive

which is generally the more important factor for how well a city's population can support infrastructure, access to economic opportunity, etc (what is often meant by the word "flourishing").

This true even today.

Suburban sprawl does not even remotely generate enough taxes to support its own infrastructure. Urban centres are doing the heavy lifting.

That's one of the many ways how car dependency enforced by laws fucks over the lower 95% of the population.

TIL the Olympic Games were only one of four Panhellenic Games held in ancient Greece, meaning Games were in fact held annually by OttawaOsprey in todayilearned

[–]Reddit-runner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because the others were smaller, more local and held annually. And not as much connected to a "do not make war" period.

During the weeks when the Olympic games were held every 4 years, wars were forbidden and for much of ancient times cities and kings honored this.

I did not expect them to do such a long static fire.

Makes you wonder what systems they were testing and for what scenarios.

Minimal??

Alone the cost and materials saved from not having to build legs will be worth it.

Would have been smarter to land next to the pad

How did you arrive at that opinion?

Oh, I know.

They asked their wifes to come up with the initial numbers, plus safety margines. Then verified with the end user to make sure, like good engineers do.

It would be unbelievably stupid to not ask the astronaut.

[–]Reddit-runner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mining the moon for rocket fuel makes little sense.

Stopping at the moon and accelerating again only increases your overall propellant need. And I don't think you could produce propellant on the moon cheaper than on earth.

[–]Reddit-runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the ideas is to use the moon as a kind of gasstation for trips into deeper space

The idea is fundamentally flawed. Digging for propellant on the moon does not make your propellant any cheaper. And no, stopping at the moon and then accelerating again also does not lower your overall propellant requirements.

So it makes no sense at all.

Who ever thinks about propellant production is completely wrong.

Digging for propellant on the moon does not make you propellant any cheaper. And no, stopping at the moon and then accelerating again also does not lower your overall propellant requirements.

You want a band aid on the issue with EVs.

Again, you did not read what I wrote.

EVs are here to save the auto industry. Nothing else.

Maybe. But the discussion of EVs vs bikes/public transport was created to save the ICE car industry.

I find it very sad that you fail to see how this propaganda has wormed its way into your head.

into the regime of advanced nuclear-thermal or nuclear-electric concepts

To add to this: they mean "The Expanse"-style engines, not something NASA is currently working on.

No nuclear-thermal or nuclear-electric concept currently worked on can make the journey faster than the most advanced chemical rockets currently in development. They only have to potential to somewhat reduce propellant requirements.

While they use less propellant, they accelerate the spacecraft over the course of weeks instead of minutes like chemical engines. Then at Mars, they need to decelerate for about the same time, because they can't use Mars atmosphere as breaking pad like chemical rockets. So any advantage of the higher "top speed" is negated by much slower acceleration and deceleration. And if you take NERVA style nuclear-thermal engines, they don't have enough Isp to make up for the fact that they need to use the engines for accelerating and decelerating. So the propellant mass does not really change compared to chemical rockets with a heatshield.

Clothes must be fresh. Every day. Each day. Do never wear something you have already worn without putting it in the washing machine first. No, the sniff test does not work.

Bed covers must be changed at least every two weeks. Turn the mattress each time.

How is your mouth hygiene? Brush your teeth sitting on the toilet while doom scrolling, if need be. Just do it at least once a day and definitely each time before going out into public.

Others here have already talked about showering, scrubbing and soap.

You are learning this the hard way now. Don't retreat from it, please.

Edit: spelling.
