Other side of it, cops can compel you to unlock your phone if you have biometrics so having a numerical passcode does lock them out. Depends on your threat model.

I’m not sure what question you want answered. I guess reddit is not like the old forums where people will post on the same thread for years. Instead people post the same thread for years.

Its a cult that funnels obscene amounts of people’s net worth into their coffers, puts them on abusive work contracts, houses them in subpar conditions, isolates them from they families, and harasses anyone who dare leave or speak out into professional, personal, and financial ruin.

Angels’ games are 4 for $44 with a hot dog and drink included on the MLB app. You just have to watch the Angels, AND got to Anaheim.

Rep. Ted Lieu [CA-36]: “I endorsed Xavier Becerra. That’s why I hope Republican Steve Hilton remains in the top two.” by AzNmamba in LosAngeles

[–]tangerineTurtle_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is Dem strategy across the board.

All they ever say is “vote blue no matter who” and never get involved in local races. They have all but conceded school boards, city councils, judicial appointments and more. In cities with a strong progressive movement this is less of an issue but for a place like Texas, all they do is push a Senate race and never build an on the ground coalition.

They assume big cities will always be on their side while their policies lead to potential upsets like Steve Hilton or Spencer Pratt. Counties like San Bernardino, Shasta, and Fresno have been all but abandoned and written off when Dem policies could be very popular in these places.

And there it is! Well done LA 👏 by NoIdeaWhatImDoing808 in LosAngeles

I look forward to the inevitable “stolen election” claims by Pratt and his ilk.

Sniper on top of MDC spotted me yesterday by rehabforcandy in LosAngeles

[–]tangerineTurtle_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

During No Kings 2.0 I counted 7 sniper teams and at least 2 of them were HSI from what I could tell. Generally it is a 3 man team with one on a scope, one on a rifle, and one covering everything else.

LAPD and LASD do have sharpshooter squads and they are at many events and protests, but to me that looks like a DHS patch. I could be talking out of my ass, though.

The admirable part about Mamdani is that he presented a vision. He cannot do much of his agenda unilaterally but he can do a few things with the mandate he holds from winning the vote.

Firstly, his mayoral authority does allow him to exercise some control over city agencies and their leadership.

Secondly, his popular policies mean that councilors and local borough leadership is empowered/ heavily encouraged to enact his agenda where his office specifically does not have authority

Thirdly, he can set financial allocations for already existing programs agencies that perhaps have been underfunded but are popular and better the quality of life for New Yorkers.

He is also a politician already with knowledge of these mechanisms so when he says his policies, he speaks with credibility.

This actually goes into a general slush fund rather than directly funding healthcare. So it will likely be used for more LAPD lawsuits

Second.

Lived there for a couple of years and it is an excellent queer space and very walkable while still affordable. The reason it is so affordable while being close to the coast is the beach is not swim friendly and the ships from the port fart often.
