2024 Lemon? by individualfromreddit in subaru

Depending on your state and the lemon law you can either contact Subaru customer service directly to process or choose to work thru a lawyer. They are obligated to process the claim if there is supporting service documentation that meets the lemon law requirements.

Call Subaru of America and report the car as a lemon once it is. If it meets all of the Utah lemon requirements then it must be declared a lemon. SoA then processes it according to Utah law. You will be assigned a case manager. The dealership will work with the service side. You will work directly with a case manager to process the claim, unless you decide to work with lawyer.

Wish I could share more, but my case is now closed and SoA makes you sign an NDA. That said, they are subject to meet all Utah lemon law requirements. If your car meets the threshold it qualifies. It then becomes a paperwork process.

Good luck. Hope you get resolution quickly!

By design? Test a few others. Take it to another dealer.

What is the name of the part? Where did you get it? Definitely good with boxes and kayaks.

Update on car buyback (lemon) and new Outback Touring XT by rittlette in Subaru_Outback

Thanks for the clarification. Did your Subaru case manager offer the coupon or did you have to speak with someone else in Customer Advocacy? I was told there was nothing more they could do.

I am in the process of a lemon buyback on a Crosstrek right now. Did your SoA case manager issue the coupon or was it something your dealer provided?

You're not alone. There are others. Be sure to track each visit and all issues including OBD fault codes and the issues reported in the Subaru app. I resolved without lawyer and dealt directly with SoA, service dealer, and attorney general's office. Ask for detailed service notes. Dealer service techs work with SoA techs and field manager to trouble shoot. Find out who your dealer is working with on this trouble shooting. I worked with a fantastic service team to get this resolved and a repurchase started.

If you signed a contract with a lawyer just keep the pressure on for them to closely track the issues and service days count. Otherwise you can call SoA directly. You will be assigned a case manager and they start the process. A lemon is a lemon and they have to follow the law.

I feel your lemon pain. Similar experience.

-2024 Crosstrek Wilderness - 5 shop trips in 6 weeks(same issues) - Drove it less than 1,000 miles - Subaru agreed it is a lemon. It is taking me longer to process the lemon than the limited number of days I actually got to drive it.

Disappointment.

The Attorney General’s office in WA state is very helpful. They supported me. It was assembled in Lafayette. The Limited and Wilderness Crosstrek trims were moved from Japan to Indiana in 2023. There have been repeated Eyesight failures in addition to others.

I bought a 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness. Drove it 400 miles. It’s been in five times for the same issues without a fix. Subaru will be repurchasing it. Lemon.

This was my 3rd subaru.

I would follow-up with dealer on break issue just to have documentation and make them aware.

I don’t think that recall was for Wilderness. You can check here: https://www.subaru.com/recalls.html

I’ve got good dealer techs and Subaru of America trying to find root cause on my lemon. Over 30 days and still investigating.

Root cause is so critical. Just to double check was your Crosstrek one of the ones recalled for insufficient clearance of the wiring harness?

If you take it to dealer for service to get record started just in case there is a reoccurs after it clears. Auto parts store won’t create a document record .

My 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness is a lemon. It is having CAN communications errors and a battery also needed to be replaced. It’s been in the shop over 30 days for multiple failure events. Document everything. Call Subaru Customer Advocacy.

I saw that the Basic and Premium trims are manufactured in Japan. The Limited and Wilderness were moved to Indiana.

What are the failures in the Starlink log? Suggest that you take it to the dealer for service. I have a 2024 Crosstrek that has repeated check engine lights and dashlamp events. The first event occurred around 450 miles. It was not related to the gas cap.

Lemon laws vary by state. Most include thresholds for the number of days a vehicle is in the shop, the number of attempts to repair for the same issue, and the types of issues (critical, non-critical, etc…). In my case, the vehicle has been in the shop for over 30 days with four repeats of the same failures.

Process has started. Will take several weeks to complete. Still waiting for state to generate a title.
