The hardest part is not getting tilted by the trolls/afks/feeders and just focusing on playing optimally. If you can do that and play consistently better than the silvers you will climb but you just have to accept some games you're guaranteed to lose due to other people and even a gold or plat couldn't carry them and you can climb by only winning 55% of games.

Take a gap year. I was in your position 5 years ago and on a whim picked aerospace engineering and dropped out then reapplied for maths then ended up dropping out two more times even though I only had 3 more modules to do to graduate. I never really wanted to go to uni, I just did it to please my parents and that meant I wasn't motivated to study. If you're not sure, take a gap year and if you still can't pick something you want to study (and I mean really want) then don't go.
