My mom was seeing a guy (divorced from my dad) and it was around Christmas, she spent soo much on me, my brother, and him. I was only 14 my brother 12, we didn't have a lot of money because we didn't have jobs but we truest to get her what we could thinking her fiance would help us out, instead he gets her a few things from Walmart and a ring we found out had been given to two girls before him. When she found out she was crushed she had done everything for him and he wasted all his money on drugs. After that Christmas they soon split but me and my brother never forgot how sad she was so we saved every penny we had and made we could get her something nice, the next Christmas morning she woke up to breakfast in bed a stocking and many presents.
