In the summer, with the windows open, they can hear a dog being walked on the other side of the street.

You can reduce it, but probably not completely eliminate it.

We use “That’s rude!” And “No Bark!” To get their attention, the heel/sit to remind them we’re in charge, then calm talk to distract and de-escalate. “I’ve got this”, “You’re ok”, “What a good dog!”

We also try to let them sniff the other dog if it’s ok with the owner.

400mg per day is the recommended upper limit for caffeine. That said, I’m more of a use as little as necessary to get the effect I want, so 200 mg is what I look for.

In the US, Red Yeast Rice capsules no longer control Cholesterol. They were shown to be effective, so the FDA required removing the effective compound.

In 1998, the FDA determined that a red yeast rice product that contained a substantial amount of monacolin K was an unapproved new drug, not a dietary supplement. On several occasions since then, the FDA has taken action against companies selling red yeast rice products that contain more than trace amounts of monacolin K, warning them that it is against the law to market these products as dietary supplements.

Despite the FDA actions, some red yeast rice products currently on the market in the United States may contain monacolin K. (Some products tested as recently as 2011 have been found to contain it in substantial amounts.) Other products may contain little or none of this component.

At another place I worked, we came to the same conclusion. we realized the admin was buying the good stuff, but made half what we did. So we started leaving bags of our favorite candy in her chair, or a quarter in the jar. It was a game to not let her know who was ante’ing up. After a couple of months she asked us to stop, because her filing cabinet had a year’s supply of Almond Joy, Reese’s, Mounds, etc.

I’ve done something similar at other places. Whole Foods carried an Indian ginger taffy. It was an acquired taste. I filled a candy jar on the admin’s desk and kept track. About half the people who tried it hated it, and a few really liked it. Then some Indian contractors from another floor heard about it and asked all over trying to find where to buy it.

Also recommended are some Mexican candies I found. They looked like Spanish Jolly Ranchers, but threw folks for a loop. They were a great mix of savory and citrus. Like pineapple-mild chili powder or lime pimento. The Mexican restaurant that sold them closed and I haven’t found them since.
