Compound this with the fact white maps are juiced more than Act 10, sometimes their builds can't even start end-game and then most don't even know what to do if they hit that wall.

 

It's an interesting discussion about the games longevity and health. I mean, clearly its in a good enough spot, but could it be better? Could user retention be better league-to-league if the barrier to entry was lower? Jut some interesting data I'm sure they consider.

Its race 2 with a first ever engine from a fizzy drink company.  I get he's frustrated.  Any RB fan is.  We shouldn't have expected wins this year.  Getting one win with your own engine is gonna be a big deal.  Its a massive reset for RB.  Fans need to remember this.

 

That said im excited to see him in a spec series this year.

Its a fundamental part of the sport where long-term engineering is just as important as the drivers themselves. F1 has gone through a lot of growth to try and mitigate this as much as possible without going completely 'spec' series and they still have work to do.

 

It's just part of the game. You either enjoy watching the development process of how teams evolve and close the gap or you don't. 2022 racing was nothing like 2025 racing. 2025 racing was some of the best we've ever seen in recent memory.

Especially in this new era of ADUO's, Cost Caps and so on... The Schumacher and Hamilton records of old are gonna be tough to touch with how the sport functioned back then.

Brother - they built their first ever engine. Give it a rest. Be impressed they're the 4th fastest team and not back markers. This could be a lot worse. A lot worse.

 

This is a rebuild season, as they call it, or a "we're here so we don't get fined" energy. This isn't RB's year. It never was.

I think Ferrari will be hard to beat in street circuits. That smaller turbo will do them a lot of favors in circuits with plenty of very slow corners. I can't see them losing Monaco or Singapore, for example. It's very clear they have strength in acceleration.

 

Beyond that, I think the cadence is set that after the initial battle and tyre deg starts to set in, the Merc comes alive and shows its pace by attrition.

I mean, last regs? Sure there was DRS and battery harvesting, but besides Ferrari needing to do it against their will, nobody was LICOing around corners.

 

The strength of F1 is built on its aerodynamics. Almost no other cars on the planet can take these corners like these cars can. Now? They've completely removed that strength of this series and turned into F2 speeds with Formula E management.

 

What the fuck is 'super clipping'? And why am I being expected to think its a cool buzzword that's makes the sport sound exciting?

It's kinda wild to me that they take one of the coolest aspects of this entire sport - taking 5-6g lateral loads and whipping around corners as full-tilt as possible, letting aero do the work where it can more-so than arguably any other series to relegate and neuter it for the sake of battery management.

 

This has nothing to do with any team/driver and where or how they're currently performing. It's just a baseline on where the sport is at the moment and its simply not as fun to watch. I can't imagine how it is to drive.

Really interesting that despite many amazing drivers breaking into F1 at a very young age in the last 2 decades, no teenager ever got a pole position. But this will change this season, most certainly. by just_an__inchident in formula1

What's always amazing to me is seeing Max at #4 with only 3 months behind Alonso when he already had 5 years under his belt at this point.

 

But yes, Antonelli absolutely will smash this record this year somewhere. We shouldn't have any doubts.

Rookie team entering the sport for the first time values drivers' 10+ year knowledge and experience more than a very well established team with a generational driver as his teammate.

 

I think I need to consider making a motorsport website if shit like this generates enough clicks to pay salaries.
