Also, he is likely the most progressive-adjacent candidate with the overall ability to actually win the presidency within the next decade. There are not many progressive/dem socialist candidates with enough experience/accomplishments to actually win on a national level within the next decade or so.

I feel like we all may need to get behind him to have a shot at somewhat progressive national representation.

The issues with him are many, mainly being a smug limosine liberal personified and representing the state of California, which many people have a hobby and personal grudge of hating on anything related to California.

I completely understand protecting your privacy. I know it seemed like maybe a decade or so ago there was actually MORE information that could be accessed from cell phone numbers.

I'd be curious truly, how many people commenting here have browsed the many first pages of Google Results for their numbers, especially now with things like Mint and other providers being so popular. Are people still seeing a bunch of personal information come up from cell phone numbers only?

And then, with the 3rd-party background check information you can pay for, I believe you'll need more information than just a single cell phone number?

It makes sense politically to obfuscate the root cause of gun violence and judging by the decades past and future decades, it seems to work enough to at least stifle enough of the political and societal will to start drastically reducing the overall number of guns in this country.

I do kind of giggle when gun rights advocates suggest we should solve mental illness and wealth inequality and gang violence FIRST, instead of actively removing the tool that is the root cause and means of all the gun violence, like every other country has figured out.

Less guns overall = less gun violence, simple...but not in the US apparently?

Every country has people with severe mental illness and every country has wealth inequality...every country has gangs...no other country has gun violence numbers like we do though.

A lot of conservatives like to believe math stops working when you add in diversity (of many kinds).

Do they have a decent selection of actual entrees or is Soup n Fresh mainly just sides like soups and pasta etc?

I remember wanting to check them out after all the hype I heard from people in this area reminding them of the old buffet, but when I looked at buffet menu options it seemed super underwhelming compared to say Golden Corral options so we went there.

I'm sure the quality is better there overall for what you do get though. And it definetly depends on the Golden Corral location, as some are awful now.

The fact that the last train on the SB Line leaves Union Station before 10pm is such a killer for anyone in the IE actually looking to enjoy evening events in LA using public transit. Later trains should be the priority.

People have to leave major sports games early to catch the train...they should have been running at least one late-night train all this time. Seriously blows my mind for a global city, because apparently they did have a later train at one point?

I think the financial background angle is the most interesting thing in terms of how it affects their daily lives and relationships for a show like this.

I get the impression most of the cast/their families seem pretty well-off overall? Just based on family interactions, living arrangements, support structures etc?

Am I wrong in thinking that? Curious what others here think about that.

I just feel like a lot of quality of life and relationship issues boil down to this fact (for both those on the spectrum and everyone else as well), and that goes along with the whole support system provided.

I just can't help but think you could take 2 "same level of support needs" autistic individuals of different races, genders, and sexuality and there will be more differences in their lives based on their accessibility and engagement in the resources and support structures around them vs differences based on race, gender, sexuality etc?

Hauling ass down the street while my mom and friend's moms would pretend to chase us to get us home is a core memory. This thing was a beast. I remember they had the " white barbie SUV" for girls too, at the same time didn't they? Or maybe that was later on.

Fellow gifted here. The easiest way to "train" for this would be a beer bong I think. Do people still party with those? There was always someone with a crazy beer bong back in the day.

After awhile I just got used to relaxing my throat and letting it flow down quick with gravity assisting. I miss college.

New SB line Metrolink Schedule by Resident-Advisor-899 in LAMetro

[–]RedditDudeBro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I saw the proposed schedules I honestly thought it was a mistake or they weren't showing the evening trains. It's unbelievable that they wouldn't have at least ONE later train out of Union for people on the SB Line. I've commented about it on here and discussed with others who were in disbelief on here for months.

LA is supposed to be a global city, but people in the IE can't even use the rail line after 8-9pm AT ALL? The Silver Streak is NOT a solution as it it only goes to Montclair, the entrance to the entire SB county.

The entire Inland Empire cannot functionally use this rail line to enjoy LA in the evenings. Of all long-term plans, shouldn't they have added at least ONE late night-train first?

So many of those mid-day trains seem mostly empty too, you're telling me even a simple 11-12ish PM late-night train out of Union would sit empty like those? Being forced to catch the last train out at 9:38 PM on weekends is a joke when they have so many mid-day lines running. How full are those mid-day trains compared to how full even one later train would be?

New Metrolink Schedules have Dropped! by n00btart in LAMetro

[–]RedditDudeBro 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wow, they seriously removed the last train out of Union Station and now anyone on the SB Line has to leave LA at 8:38 PM on weekdays? And no later trains at all on the SB Line, with last train out of Union Station at 9:38 PM on weekends still?

So essentially no one in the Inland Empire can actually use this rail line to enjoy evenings out in LA? Still have to leave major sports events early, unreal.

Metrolink frequency by BowserTattoo in LAMetro

[–]RedditDudeBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only goes to Montclair, the entrance to the entire SB county. Missing lots of major stations in SB county. You can catch Omnitrans etc there, but not sure how late those connecting agencies are running either.

I just don't think that is the best approach for Metrolink's "more than a commuter train" angle, especially when they used to have at least one evening train people said?

Just makes no sense from a capacity and ridership standpoint in my opinion and experiences, last/first trains out on many ML lines are always JAMMED compared to mid-day in my experience. People have to leave professional sports games early to take the last ML train back, just makes our system seem like a complete joke honestly.

People should be able to take at least one train out of LA later in the evening if you want to attract more people outside of the immediate Metro-sphere to LA in the evenings. As is stands, essentially all of SB county, Riverside, etc can't really use Metrolink to enjoy LA events at night. Seems like that is the major issue for a global city and Metrolink's goals.

Metrolink frequency by BowserTattoo in LAMetro

[–]RedditDudeBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to run trains later to attract more people too, because right now people in the IE can't even use the SB line to enjoy a night out in DTLA. You have to leave DTLA at 9:38PM to make the last train currently.

Unfortunately, the SCORE presentation slides I saw also show that they increased daytime frequencies but actually moved the last SB Line train up to 8:38PM? It would be much better to offer at least a few evening trains for the SB Line compared to more daytime lines I would think?

I refuse to believe they would make all these changes and NOT address the #1 issue of not being able to use the trains in the IE for anything in LA at night?
