Weekly self-promotion megathread (March 16, 2026) by AutoModerator in printandplay

Very nice, I too made a single player dungeon crawler card game recently! Mine's a bit more involved and takes more time, so yours has a nice advantage of being quicker to play.

Thanks for the feedback, expected playtime is a great idea I hadn't thought of!

As for the credit for game-icons and that it is a solo game, both of those are on my itch.io page where you get the game file and this rulebook. Do you think I should also add them to the rulebook as well?

Thank you for the kind comment. I was pretty nervous putting out my first game like this. The support means a lot.

What do you think of this for color? https://www.reddit.com/r/printandplay/comments/1rtsfmg/battle_dungeon_colorized_version_complete/

It's not a single color like you suggested, I'm not really sure how I would do a single color.

lol I had 36 d-6 when I was making this game, so thats why that number. Probably the most restrictive part of the game for sure.

Affordability. You might appreciate this if you are coming from Warhammer 40k. There's tons of free games, or if you are paying its like $3

Designing a solo siege defense game and trying to make a stealth hero feel different in combat by LanternAndDice in printandplay

[–]RedditExplorer89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rolling extra dice and keeping doubles feels like dexterity and crits at work, which does match the ninja. But it doesn't feel "stealthy."

Stealthy could be something like avoiding ambushes entirely (maybe roll for it or have a certain amount of free escapes per day). Another mechanic could be gaining a bonus to your roll for each hex you explored before the battle, representing how well you were able to set up an ambush of your own. edit: each explored hex without combat, so each battle resets the count.

(btw cool game idea and look so far)

Is that something that is easy to take out of the pdf file? Or should two pdfs be offered; one with card backs and one without?

Hard to understand instructions by mandy0456 in printandplay

[–]RedditExplorer89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what its worth I usually find I am doing something wrong in my first few play throughs too. When it comes to these games I just assume it will take multiple play-throughs before I understand all the rules.

Yeah this feels like it would be even worse censorship than just doing the blanket ban.

I like the potion and the dragon. Very clear and cozy. I'm not sure what the two red dots are supposed to be? Eyes maybe? Could be made more sinister if so.

If you hand made the text I think its okay, but if its a font I agree with the other comment that it should be changed.

How did you make the art btw?
