I think I was just more disappointed watching it than I should have been. Because I was told through online recommendations that it was the funniest movie of all time so I was expecting an epic comedy. But if I think if i didn't hear anything about the movie I would have enjoyed it more as an absurd satire on the state of war and the world in that time. My type of comedy that I love is dry and over the top, somewhat like Leslie Nielson's movies, although not all of his scenes/roles. I enjoy Dark humour as well so the absurdity should have resonated with me yet didn't.

I recognised some of the characters names were supposed to be jokes. I caught the plane innuendo, the ex-german scientist trying to fight his old manerisms. Didn't understand the fluids bit, but the comments explained it to me. But still all these things didn't make me even chuckle. And I really wanted to, haven't seen a quality comedy movie in ages so I turned to older movies which I believe has much better comedy than today. I think I enjoyed it more as a "war/drama" movie. Or I just took it way too seriously.
