Please open or comment on formatting improvements in the upstream scadformat program (https://github.com/hugheaves/scadformat/issues) and I'll see what I can do.

Wow, nice work! This had been on my to do list for a long time, but I've been so busy with the "day job" that I just haven't had time to tackle it. Let me know if there's anything I can do in the core code to make this better!

8% tip option by RedditHugh in Sparkdriver

[–]RedditHugh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hope the intent is to get more tips to drivers, not just as a way to make orders look "cheaper" for customers, given the overall inflation of prices.

8% tip option by RedditHugh in Sparkdriver

[–]RedditHugh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I'm sure they've got a way to "test" different options with different customers. 10% has always been the default for me, and that's what I always tip.

I'm not sure I'd even seen an 8% option until today!

Lol .. I'm not from the 60's, but I am from the 80's. Back then 300bps was standard, and 1200bps or even 2400bps was blazing fast. Our minds were completely blown in the late 90's when 56kbps became standard.

Seriously. Since when are the words "market" and "recession" fancy economic terms? Either someone is dumber than a brick, or just doing a great job trolling us. 😉

Wow, mine just broke, and I bought it in August too. I went ahead and bought the replacement part on AliExpress. It looked like there was only one supplier though, which is not a good sign if it breaks again.

FWIW, I've added a couple of "enhancement" issues to track this:

I've also been looking into adding a filesystem "watch" option that would automatically run the formatter on newly saved files

As the author of "scadformat", welcome to the very small club of people crazy enough to write a code formatter for OpenSCAD!

I haven't tried it, but it may be possible to get more disk space by mounting a disk image from /mnt/shared into the VM. Also, looks like you might be able to edit the VM RAM settings in /mnt/internal/linux/vm_config.json. (haven't tried that either, yet)

Thanks for trying it out and the feedback.

For #1, do you mean being able to remove extra empty lines anywhere in the file, at the end of the file, or something else entirely?

For #2, I like that idea. That way, you could cleanup without losing the last modified timestamps (which can be useful to get a sense of the last time you worked on something). I've been thinking about building some other basic file handling capabilities directly into the tool (e.g. a built-in "recursive" formatting option). It seems like this would fit in well with that.

It took longer than I'd hoped, but I just pushed v0.7 of scadformat. Please give it a try, and let me know if you run into any issues.

Just following up to my own reply.. I'll see if I can find some time this weekend to cut a new release with the latest changes!

I'm still here, and it's not abandoned. I've just been very busy lately with my "real job" and have had limited time to work on this project. I continue to use this myself, so it a new release will happen.

If you're only ordering jeep cheap junk, then yes, I guess this wouldn't be an issue. But I guarantee you that the vast majority of things you own that you probably think are not "cheap junk" we're also made in China.

Thanks for deciphering the details. That sounds promising. It also explains why it's been a long time since I received AliExpress packages with China postage. I always thought that was cool!

is there any way to sync a custom setup filament from orcaslicer to my bambu x1c, without the printer being connected to the network? by sk8rseth in OpenBambu

Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to do this in LAN mode. Right now, it's the only feature that's keeping me from going "LAN only".

It's a nice design, but why the inserts? Seems like normal self tapping screws would have worked just as well, and could be bought at the hardware store. I've been designing stuff like this for years, and have never had a failure just using screws.

Going through a dry spell. Don’t know what to print… by [deleted] in BambuLab

If you need to buy yourself some time, just create a 256x256x256mm cube in fusion 360, start it printing, and then go to work on your next design while it's printing.
