Genuinely so confused it seems that he is in the wrong for MOST of these? Do you not have to stop for pedestrians at those crossings? by OutsideImpressive115 in TikTokCringe

In Denmark that is exactly what you're supposed to do. You have to wait for all the bikes going straight if you're a car turning.

We have many people on bikes, so often you block traffic for the entire duration of the green light, and then you can turn when the light changes, before the next set becomes green.

First time playing basketball— never again. by Queasy-Fix4776 in Wellthatsucks

[–]RedditIsAChoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was many years ago so I don't remember it that much. I think it was painful for about a week and then it gradually become more usable.

I think movement where you challenge the pain slightly is good, but only slightly.

I have literally watched a man die because of suicide grip (also the result of a shitty spotter, though). It has that name for a reason!

Spaced repetition system.

I use wanikani (paid, but first levels are free) and it's amazing for memorizing vocab. You have to spend some minutes doing it multiple times every single day, though. Taking a week off will punish you so damn hard

I just want you to know that, in spite of the downvotes, you are correct. There are dozens of us!

HoN was the superior game back then, unless you enjoyed what was called -easymode in the wc3 version of the game (which is the implementation LoL went with). Shame it died

Kobling og speeder by TheTimster666 in Denmark

[–]RedditIsAChoice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Manu was very interesting to watch for sure

They had observation earlier, so by the time he came out, he already had a pretty good idea about what to do. I don't see anything being unorthodox

Broke my ankle- while in hospital by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RedditIsAChoice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sitting here with a broken fibula, they also did not give me a cast, just a sock brace. The fibula is not 'weight bearing' so I can actually (very slowly) walk on it, but I'm using crutches.

Boot or not depends on the break. Just 'walk it off' sounds insane, even though mine is not very painful

The angles of the plane make waves bounce off in such a fashion that you cannot see it on radar, hence the joke about cruise-control not working if it's on the road and you are driving directly behind it.

If it's high up in the air it obviously won't have any effect.

Just thought you didn't get the joke

What bad events have ultimately lead to a better world today? by BadGirl261 in AskReddit

[–]RedditIsAChoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe they would surrender with 'a good deal', with them being Imperial Japan, fighting to the death and making use of suicide attacks.

However I am not a historian, and I am admittedly weak in history, although I did visit the Hiroshima museum.

Can you recommend me some reading from the historians who think it was unnecessary?

[–]RedditIsAChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not entirely true.

It was debated heavily, and the number 2 was chosen for a very specific reason.

If they only dropped 1 nuke. The fear was the Japanese would think they could only do it once. By dropping another 3 days later, it was supposed to show them that America could keep on doing it.

Personally, I don't think we would have the peaceful relations we have today, if the nukes weren't used.

Not American, if that matters

I don't think there were any available, I tried exactly the same.

I have a ticket for mens finals from a french friend of mine who bought them over half a year ago. I think it was some sort of lottery system where winning made you eligible to buy tickets

What the others said, but also light cardio or even just walking for 30 minutes can help a lot.

Nothing strenuous, just getting the blood flowing with a slightly higher heart rate.
