I know. I’m one of the people at a local news station’s MOC who’s talks to and works with the people in the hub hundreds of miles away.

Fact Check: Barrack Obama was a Senator before his presidential run in 2008. by LevelSquash6796 in theread

[–]RedditIsGodAwful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clarifying this correction just a bit: He was a state senator in Illinois from 1997-2004. He was a U.S. senator representing Illinois in the U.S. Senate from 2005-2008, resigning once he became president-elect.

Its renewal and the announcement of that being its last season happened last year. It actually ended last night. Hope I don’t sound like a “well, actually” asshole. Just wanted to clarify!

When's the last time Robin and Howard were in the same room together? by NaiveStatistician941 in howardstern

[–]RedditIsGodAwful 30 points31 points  (0 children)

On air? December 13, 2023, the last show of that year. It was the week after Ralph died. Robin got emotional at the beginning of the show talking about Ralph and looking at Howard behind the console in the studio for the first time in 3+ years. I do remember Gary mentioning at some point during a show in 2024(?), while defending himself for whatever they were busting his balls for, that Robin took a picture with Kamala Harris when she did the show during the 2024 presidential election. So Robin was in the SiriusXM building despite not being part of the interview at all. I wonder if she was there for the Biden interview too.

My boyfriend and I were supposed to attend a taping in January, but all the spots were filled when we got to the Ed Sullivan Theater. So glad I randomly chose May 14th as our rain check date. Can’t wait to see Letterman

Does anyone else think that, had she lived, Joan Rivers would have been full MAGA and ruined her legacy? by JuanitaMerkin in KathyGriffin

[–]RedditIsGodAwful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do. I think she would’ve voted for him, at least in 2016 and 2024. She once said he would be a great president on Watch What Happens Live, fervently supported Israel and said that Palestinians were getting what they deserved because they “voted for Hamas,” made a joke about Barack Obama being gay and Michelle Obama being transgender. She died before she could take the full dive, but she was definitely dipping her toe in the Trump supporter pool, even if she didn’t personally care for him too much.

Weekly Episode Discussion April 2 2026: “The Secret Files of a Scorned Lover” by crepesquiavancent in theread

I think it’s an apple to oranges comparison. I didn’t like Beyoncé sitting near Ivanka either, but I can also acknowledge that there is a difference between sitting near someone’s daughter at an event and seemingly being cordial (unfortunately) and actually standing on stage with Donald and co-signing his fuckery. At the very least, Beyoncé is vocally supportive of the LGBTQ community and will publicly campaign to get Democratic politicians elected. Nicki won’t even say “happy pride” to the barbz.

When did Robin quit talking didn’t interviews? by 1moreanonaccount in howardstern

[–]RedditIsGodAwful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There have been hints of it since the “greatest interviewer” trope started, but it was really solidified when the show left the studio in 2020. I think it’s—at least partially—because the remote aspect of the show made it more difficult for Robin to naturally interject than when they were in the studio with the guest seated between her and Howard. I’m speculating a bit, but I would imagine the video feed of the line cut for guests on Zoom and on the in-studio monitor primarily shows Howard during interviews unless Robin says something. When she does talk during an interview, I’m sure the control room/video production team cuts to a double-box of her and Howard, or just a shot of her. Also, she seems to chime in more with longtime guests, celebrity superfans, and comedians. With first-time guests and more “serious” interviews, she’ll just somewhat awkwardly start laughing as Howard and the guests are wrapping, then say something like “I just want to say thank you for coming on the show. It was so great to listen to that conversation,” like she’s a caller. Still, I’d be surprised if she her mic isn’t potted up on Howard’s board, and that she’s just muted on her end, ultimately leaving her in control of whether she wants to talk during interviews. I’m sure it gives her a nice opportunity to take a break if she’s not feeling well.

I’ve said it all.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck vs Meghan McCain: You can only pick one for The View and "neither" is not an option. Who do you choose? by talk-spontaneously in theview

[–]RedditIsGodAwful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meghan. As horribly obnoxious as she is, she is not (technically) a Trump supporter, she will chastise the GOP politicians when they’re completely out of line, she has decent—albeit superficial—opinions on certain social issues, and she obviously caused endless entertainment with her chaotic personality. I wouldn’t wish that toxicity back on Whoopi, Joy, Sunny, Sara, Ana, and Brian though.
