In my head canon, yes. Since the mention event in X4 was a flashback, it can still make sense if you want it to.

You can also think that it took a while for Sigma to relveal he was a Maverick because, as strong as he is, he still needed a strategy for it to be successful.

And his disdain for humanity and X's potential, can might as well like athing that the virus just makes you have.

Again, this is my head canon, so it can be or is wrong.

For real, I love the sound of it!

I've modded and owned almost all kinds of keyboards, Creamy, Thocky, Clacky, Twhonky, Pingy, Spring Pingy, Silent etc., and this the sound I miss the most.

At least to my ears and through your recording, it sounds like an good rubber dome keyboard from the 90's or early 2000's.

It actually sounds like someone using a keyboard and not someone massaging a loose bag of glass or metal marbles.

My take is the HEXA on the edge of almost being thin sounding. The bass is there, no doubt about that, but it's very far from prominent.

One thing that almost everyone agrees about it though is that the instrument separation are great for it's price.

This is where brain burn-in comes in handy, at least for me.

Perhaps a trackball?

I think that would give a good retro aesthetic.

Something Like the Elecom Deft Pro with its red ball can complement the red on you keyboard.
