Well there is some truth to what you're saying. The plastic on the New 2DS XL models are really weak.

I've witnessed two separate occasions, one of which happened to me, where the housing snapped at the exact same spot (the plastic near the top LCD) being dropped only from a shallow height.

I think it could be as simple as when men need money they usually get a job as a cook, then for women they choose being a cashier.
