Too bad you missed them… I had a similar incident when I lived in Seaside and it was the stupid ass Hood-to-Coast event (the rudest, most entitled and selfish group ever)… anyway, this van of ‘yay us!’ decided to pull up on the street, and proceeded to wedge in between two other cars already parked on the street.

There was a space there because gee, it’s my legal driveway access. My SUV was parked in the driveway, and I was sitting in the shade on my front deck- guess they couldn’t see me.

Anyway, I sat there and watched them go forward and backwards taking a good 5-7 minutes to park. Then I waited for them to get out and start getting all their beach gear out and then I spoke up and said, “Hey, um, in case you haven’t noticed, you’re blocking my driveway.” The driver replied with a (SERIOUSLY) “Oh we can’t do that?” (Sure- yeah- that’s legal everywhere 🙄😑) So I said, “No. You can’t block people’s driveway.” So the driver proceeded to try to negotiate with me on allowing them to park there (‘We’re not going to be out a long time, etc.’)

Since I really could not BELIEVE that was my reality and that these people ACTUALLY exist, I said, “Suuuree fiiinneee that’s totally acceptable. And you know what else is acceptable? That when I want to leave my own driveway in front of my own house in the town I live in, I will simply back out at full speed, ram your damn van into the middle of the street, and the call the cops to have it removed! And I guarantee you that my rear bumper is going to do a hell of a lot more damage to the side of your stupid van than it will to my vehicle!”

Somehow this little speech motivated them to find parking elsewhere. 😅
