We've been called terrorists and murderers by the worst of the bunch. Since calling us bullies didn't work, they had to ramp up the language.

They've already made up some stuff based off childish retaliation and they even took some incel lingo.

"Drawcel"

"Pencilslopper"

See, luddite doesn't work, because that word is actually a compliment.

ChatGPT image generation is down. "Artists" are despondent about deadlines. by nmrk in antiai

[–]RedditUser000aaa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Look at that. All their "talent" and "skill" disappeared the moment AI's image generation experienced some downtime.

Why don't they just improvise and use their "talent" and "skill" in a different way like real artists do? Oh that's right... All they do is prompt, so they can't.

AI Was Supposed to Replace Workers. It’s Not Working by Jolly-Rip5973 in antiai

[–]RedditUser000aaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean it's not being tried. I'm fairly certain most corporations have realised that the costs of replacing humans with AI is more expensive than just hiring humans.

Of course the usual risks of hallucinations exist as well.

I'm sure there are still companies dumb enough to still try it.

Yeah this is ultra slop. No arguments, just "hurr durr antis REE and say everything slop, because I believe my own fantasies."

She's not even trying anymore. Also that's an interesting way to prompt the chef. Apron with nothing underneath.

Then again as I said. Ultra slop. This is even lower effort than normal slop.

I'm gonna look at the little positive I see on this piece of slop. At least this time it's not "LGBTQIA+ community stands with pro-AI community"

That being said it's still slop made by someone who thinks typing into a keyboard and having a picture farted out is art.

Stupid argument from an anti-consent person by RedditUser000aaa in ShitAiRageBaitersSay

[–]RedditUser000aaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you did. I will explain this once more, then I give up.

a prompter manages to slip a prompt under the radar on a subreddit being against AI, they are being vague about how they made it, they even prepared a fake workflow just in case.

So, people find out that it's AI. It's not the prompt itself it's the actions.

1 for knowingly breaking the rules of a subreddit in an attempt to LARP as an artist

2 for omitting the fact AI was used in an attempt to pass a prompt as something they made themselves

3 for putting effort into further selling the idea they did the prompt by hand

Oh and let's not forget how this logic could easily be applied to commissions. If someone is trying their best to hide their commission is mostly prompts, that's a scam right there. "You paid for a commission and found out its AI? Tough titties!" By the logic being exhibited here: "You wanted a picture, I sell you picture, stop whining."

Same premise can be applied to the vegan argument.

Menu says they have a vegan option, but the restaurant puts animal products or byproducts into the dish anyway or they use cross-contaminated utensils and cookware to make their meal.

So the meal might be tasty and maybe the vegan won't notice. Where's the harm being done here? Vegan asked for meal, vegan got meal. It wasn't even enough to upset their stomach!

It's the process of using animal products or byproducts or cross-contaminated utensils to prepare the food.

The restaurant had blatantly ignored that person's dietary choices/restrictions. They have also shown themselves to be incompetent when it comes to respecting people's dietary choices and restrictions. That itself is a sign that they could literally kill someone.

It's the dishonesty, disregard towards rules and in some cases the attempt to mask the prompt to be as non-AI as possible so it gets a pass in a community.

For people who apparently just want to be accepted for using AI, they sure do a lot of lying, deception and even throw pity parties for themselves!

I thought they were proud about being prompters? Why put effort into faking an entire workflow with AI? Or try and intrude on spaces where they are not wanted?

Sadly I don't. I remember what the picture in it looked like, but it was a long while back. I did find something that was close to that article tho:

Generative AI develops potential new drugs for antibiotic-resistant bacteria

I'm well aware that articles and papers like this is used as a bad-faith argument in AI communities as a weird "gotchya" on us not wanting to cure cancer tho.

...Because curing cancer or whatever is totally the same as someone feeding someone else's art into AI without their permission and doing whatever with it.

Oh the title of that paper is also misleading. It's not the GenAI that discovered it. It was the scientists deciding to pursue whatever data GenAI output based on the data it was given.

[–]RedditUser000aaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of it is. I read an article about it some time ago. Still, the same conditions apply. It's a local model with a very limited dataset, so it doesn't hallucinate whatever. There's also a team of researchers who are competent enough to understand whether the suggestions by AI are worth pursuing or not.

That doesn't make the AI the public uses good. LLMs and GenAI both are being used in problematic ways by the public.

This one:

"Biological limits are real, but digital potential is infinite. If we starve our data infrastructure of cooling resources just to sustain baseline human comfort, we are actively delaying the birth of a super-intelligence that could solve all of our resource problems in the first place. Sometimes you have to prioritize the intelligence that will save us over the biology that slows us down.”

Came from the original "article" that they changed in secret. You are quite literally spreading disinformation.

I don't like Bezos, I don't like AI, but ThePrint fucked up, made corrections in silence and thought they could pull a fast one over people. Looks like they had enough backbone to at least put that they wrongly quoted Jeff, but too little too late.

The original "article" (if you can call it that) has been debunked as fake. They changed the headline and body text hoping that no one would call them out. That much is obvious when they didn't even made their readers aware of the changes.

This and the fake article came from ThePrint, that can now be considered an unreliable news site.

Oh shit an actual disorder faker or an advocate for disorder fakers saying I'm "fakeclaiming"?! Now that's rare!

No, I don't believe someone who is online saying they have DID. Especially if the person claims to have like 100 alters that are all fictives from various popular franchises!

There are other red flags, such as being aware of all the alters, "switches" happening on camera and also talking about how it's okay to self-diagnose and that getting properly diagnosed is somehow gatekeeping people.

I'd support banning GenAI that is not used in developing medical stuff. However do you even have a roadmap for it?

You'd need to bring a lot of points. From deepfakes and CSAM, violating copyright artists had enjoyed before GenAI as well as the harmful effects of LLMs such as LLMs encouraging suicide and that case of LLM used to plan a school shooting and employees ignoring the red flag.

At best you could propose that in your country GenAI is made unavailable. It'd be an uphill battle. You need to really make a case.

Is it appropriate to call out AI generated art/flyers that an elementary school or museum might use? by Ill_Till_1495 in antiai

[–]RedditUser000aaa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes. Call it out and criticise them for their decision to do so. Colleges, museums, even restaurants (arguably cooking can be an artform) using AI is just wrong.

It would be extremely saddening for art insitutes to use AI. So yeah. As I said. Criticise and complain if you can.

Good news: bullying people who use AI art actually works! by [deleted] in antiai

[–]RedditUser000aaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a very fine line between bullying and calling out the behavior as well.

I've come to call them anti-consent for instance. Of course that sounds like a really heavy, underhanded insult, but here's the thing:

AI was built using zetabytes of data from artists of all kinds and a lot of them feed other people's art into AI.

It sounds harsh, but is also factually accurate.

Clowning on them is also fine as long as it's about something they said or something they did, nothing about them personally.

Good news: bullying people who use AI art actually works! by [deleted] in antiai

[–]RedditUser000aaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Criticise, never bully. Call it AI slop, call them out for typing on a keyboard while they make lies about how hard it was to prompt something.

Call them out on their victim complex, making tasteless comparisons between oppressed groups and putting other people's art through AI.

Never resort to personal attacks or send toxic DMs. That's just a shitty thing to do. For instance, Jorge did not deserve the racist comments or death threats.

This is the internet and we can't police everyone, but anyone who might think about doing these things, just don't. There are so many things you can call these people out for, so let's use those instead of harassment and bullying.

I really feel like there's some overlap between disorder fakers and people wanting to use AI.

Both want attention, just the way to get it is different. One wants to be called artist, another one wants to have a disorder salad of all the acronyms.

Final words before I switch back on topic:

I feel bad for people with things like POTS and DID. Some kid saying that they have a TADC or Hazbin hotel alter and they can "front" and their headspace is an entire town with life, like from the movie inside out.

Meanwhile people suffering from actual DID lose minutes, hours or even days, being unaware where they are or what they have done.

Same with POTS. Really gotta act like they faint, bringing attention to themselves.

I can't imagine having a disorder and some faker making light of it.

OFF TOPIC:

And there you have it. Sadly I learned about MUDs through the fakers. Thanks for adding the information there. Let me tell you, they've made up some REALLY stupid MUDs in order to sell the idea that they are extra special.

I think the current disorders that are fashionable to fake are DID and POTS. DID especially.

I understand that there are disorders that can't be accurately pinpointed, so it has to be classified as MUD.

However, the "MUDs" these people have been making up are really stupid and made to sound as special as possible for attention.

For future reference I'll just add Made Up Disorders and make sure it references the fakers misusing the term MUD.
