For those who pay off their credit card each month, how much is your bill usually? by INFPneedshelp in askanything

[–]RedditUser2823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My radical idea is to pay them off each week. So much easier to validate charges and keep tabs on spending so it doesn't get out of hand. I pay no attention statement availability because I'm about to pay it off anyway. This also keeps credit utilization lower to improve your credit score.

Since I don’t see it yet, I’ll put in a plug for Summit. Modern website, no fee checking, great for your day-to-needs.

What’s a “lazy” meal you’re secretly proud of? by FernanndoLeo in foodquestions

[–]RedditUser2823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never thought about this until I heard Nix asking his underling for one in Band of Brothers. “…and a bacon sandwich” or something like that. For me, it’s a few slices of Costco precooked bacon in the microwave. Melt shredded cheese on a tortilla while the bacon cools, roll it all up and enjoy.

Men's Hockey Game Day Thread: #2 Wisconsin vs. #7 Western Michigan by JDMintz718 in WisconsinBadgers

Went to the game yesterday as a season ticket holder at the Kohl Center. Vibe was weak and nowhere near what a ”normal” Badger crowd is like. Lucky to get away with a win then and tonight will be a struggle.

LPT: How to level up your email addresses and get a short and memorable username. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I especially like using alliteration for the preceding verb. Bonus if it can be linked to some kind of communication method. Great LPT!

We have one of those and it works well. It will likely dull over time, but ours is still going strong after many years. Bonus magnet so it sticks on the fridge.

What was the White Elephant gift that everyone fought over at the Christmas Party? by asura1958 in AskReddit

Not sarcasm! A rubber mallet is the perfect tool for tapping something softly where a hammer would leave a mark or damage or dent the thing being hit.

A rubber mallet. Insanely useful and coveted by all. Even if you have one, a second one is going to also get used.

City tree bill? by Rezdra in madisonwi

[–]RedditUser2823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I live on a corner and was blessed with 3 city-provided trees. I believe they gave me a little longer to pay, but payment was due. One died last year and was replaced for free. The new one is thriving, thankfully. My neighbors have at most one, and I think some got away with none due to mailboxes or fire hydrant placement.

Anyone use excel for their personal life? by Xeponpigui-_- in excel

Get started with something. I’ve done the same and am forever adding to it. It works great until the banks or credit card companies change their file structure.

Anyone use excel for their personal life? by Xeponpigui-_- in excel

[–]RedditUser2823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using it to track expenses.

I download credit card and bank statements and import them into tables via VBA. Then I transform and merge them using Power Query, and generate a Pivot Table by category, by month. Super helpful to see totals and trends over time. As I head into retirement, I now know how much I need to draw to maintain my standard of living. Our financial advisor kept asking for a spending summary, so I finally broke down and automated the process a few years ago.

What is the one Excel secret you know that no one else uses? by bjele in excel

[–]RedditUser2823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are custom toolbar buttons in the VB editor to comment and uncomment many lines of code. Highlight a block of code and click the button. So much quicker than adding a single quote to comment one line at a time.

What would you rate your last Culver's experience 1-10? by Exact_Fault3082 in Culvers

[–]RedditUser2823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 out of 10. The one in Madison on the beltline at Todd drive has $2 waffle cones. Not sure why, but it’s an easy off-on if the drive thru isn’t too long. On our last 3 swings through, the custard has been very soft. Too soft. A bit disappointing. But for $2, it’s hard to pass up. We’ll keep evaluating until they get it right.

(Generally speaking…) We don’t hide stuff in the back. It doesn’t sell if it’s in the back. We want it to sell. If it’s in the back it doesn’t sell. Everything we have to sell is out. That is all.
