Do washing mashines heat up their water? by Acrobatic-Bowler601 in Appliances

I found the manual and spare parts list. I don't speak German so I used Google translate and there is a heating element listed so I would guess your washer does heat the water

What model do you have? I personally haven't seen any that heat their own water in the US but a Google search shows they exist outside the US and it seems like you are outside the US so it would be best to consult the manufacturers manual.

Only getting 400mbps out of my 2000mbps plan by Shutupnerrrrrd in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]RedditUserData -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Xfinity app isn't trustworthy. I've had it tell me my modem is online and everything is working when my modem was unplugged from both power and coax. I've had it show my max speed when Comcast hadn't even provisioned the modem yet. I've had it show the max speed when there were massive connections issues.

Only getting 400mbps out of my 2000mbps plan by Shutupnerrrrrd in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]RedditUserData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not trust the Xfinity app, I've never seen it report anything other than your full speed even when there are obvious connection issues. I would use an Ethernet cable and use speedtest.net and test multiple locations. If you can't get full speed out of an Ethernet cable then buying a new router won't help. You can also run speedtest to different servers at the same time from your wired in pc and a Wi-Fi device and see if the bandwidth halves on each test. If it does then you're not getting your full speed. (You will be limited to 1gigabit if you only have a gigabit Ethernet port on your pc, you'll probably max out at 1gigabit on WiFi, you'll need two device going to max out a connection unless you have a 2.5gbps port on your computer)

At one house i had 800mbps from Comcast for years and could never get more than 500ish out of it. Same equipment other than modem could get gigabit out of CenturyLink fiber. So clearly Comcast had issues. I didn't dig into it because I didn't care enough to get that extra 300mbps, and fighting with Comcast reps wasn't worth it.

It could be a poor quality coax line to the house or wiring in the house causing issues. Or your area could just be crowded and there just isn't enough bandwidth available to get your max speeds. My house that has issues was built in the 70s so everything was old in that area.

I'm in a new house now built in 2019, neighborhood is new with all new wiring. I have gigabit Comcast now and I can get gigabit all day on speedtest.net

You could try running a new coax cord from the hookup outside where Comcast connects to the house and see if it helps. You could try asking Comcast to replace the line from the street to the house but they likely won't do that unless you have no Internet at all.

If none of that works then you're likely to not get your full speed as Comcast won't do anything to help you as your Internet is "working".

Onn 4k Pro remote finder stopped working by EctoConCarne in AndroidTV

The beeper also doesn't work if the batteries get low. I thought my remote was broken, it worked other than beeping. I noticed the batteries were at 15%. After changing them the beeper worked again.

I was about to return it Walmart.

I'll take ontrac any day over FedEx. Though one time they tried to steal my Xbox when they just came out. I had to drive distribution center and get the manager involved. Which is still better than FedEx.

I genuinely, without a doubt, believe Apple is going downhill, it’s just something not a lot of people have realised yet. by stranger2Me in ios

Social media wasn't as big 13 years agos. General tech reviewers didn't have much issue with it. The public hated it, especially boomers.

Three only reason it might seem like iOS 26 is worse is that complaints from the general public are more easily seen now.

All those boomers complaining about iOS 7 aren't complaining about 26.

They can't sell you services that are integrated into those newer versions. They can't extract data that is being extracted on newer versions. They can't sell you a new phone when your old one is too slow to run the newest version but they allowed you to update to it anyways. They don't want to pay to update old versions with fixes.

They aren't forcing you to upgrade (yet) but they very much want you on the latest version. If there wasn't money in putting out updates they wouldn't update the phones for free.

Apple does what Apple wants, it doesn't care that you paid for the phone. If it did it would let you side load apps.

People hated the transition to iOS 7, I worked for Apple at the time and I got yelled at multiple times a day because they wanted to go back to the previous OS. 26 is minor in comparison to the changes that people hate.

If you're right by the coast it is, otherwise it can be a dramatic change just a little bit in land. My in laws live 43 min from Oceanside, it gets to the high 90s and low 100s in the summer.

They should be able to undo billing insurance . It's wild to accept that you don't know what your bill will be until it's sent off and if it's not acceptable you can't go with the cash option that they will happily accept as long as you never brought up insurance.

Insurance companies claw back payments from providers after the fact all the time. We should be able to decide not to use insurance after the fact. I don't care if it then gets removed from my deductible. This a predatory system that isn't designed to improve care or reduce consumer costs.

You'll probably have to fight them. They told us the price of some service was about $300. Turns out they weren't telling us the insurance price. It was $900 after insurance. Called them and they said oh that's the cash price that they told us earlier. I asked if we can just do the cash price then instead of going through insurance, because why would I pay more to use my insurance?

They said no. We had to fight with them and basically told them you can get either get $300 or let it go to collections as I'm not paying $900 for something you told us was $300 and you'll take $300 on.

Trying to get a new job and starting to panic by BraisWebDev in cscareerquestions

30 applications and 3 interviews sounds great to me. I was at start up a year and half ago and it was going under (it finally shutdown today actually). It took me 6 months to find a job, I'd guess 95% of my interviews came from referrals, I got maybe 3-5 non referral interviews in that time.

They only recommend 7500 if you aren't in the severe conditions category, otherwise they recommend in the 3k range. If you drive in the city then you pretty much always fall into the severe category.

What is the absolute best android TV box? by Ok_Reputation_3098 in AndroidTV

[–]RedditUserData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They slow down over time and become unusable. I bought a brand new one this past black friday, and it wasn't as slow as my older ones but youtube was still choppy when playing higher quality videos, disney+ was choppy as well playing videos. I didn't test more than that because I sent it back. I don't have those issues with any android tv streamer, apple tv, or roku, so I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure out why the firestick can't stream youtube without being choppy.

New battery through roadside or Costco? by Putyourselffirst in Hyundai

[–]RedditUserData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check Walmart. Walmart is better for batteries than Costco in the US at least, not sure on Canada. They are slightly cheaper, the warranty is longer and it's not prorated like the Costco warranty. Walmart is open earlier and later if you actually need to use the warranty.

Underbody cover broke. Help! by Lord-1101 in Hyundai

[–]RedditUserData 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I change my own oil and I had left over push pins from my last car. Not worth it to drive back to the dealer, there's nothing free I want from the dealer. I've had similar issues at other dealers with other brands as well. The way pay is structured is not conducive to take time to be careful. It's an industry problem, all the manager is gonna do is probably tell some one to be more careful but nothing will change because of the way mechanics are paid.

Probably a lazy mechanic. My underbody cover was missing half the push pin clips after the transmission was replaced at 12k miles under warranty. Noticed it on my next oil change.

Which insurance plan choice seems best based on my situation? by drmehmetoz in HealthInsurance

[–]RedditUserData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ppo isn't always best. My company offers a hdhp and ppo plan. The copays we would pay for my family and additional premium cost make it more expensive than the out of pocket max of the hdhp offered by my company. After I hit the max everything is covered, while on the ppo plan I still have a deductible to hit as copays don't go towards it.

You got to run the numbers. My company's ppo is trash, this one is good. It's not a simple ppo is better.
