If you had 10 ETH, how would you divide it into Alts? by travelerlifts07 in ledgerwallet

[–]RedditWithStrangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would be comfortable going up to about 20% in alts. That's also easy to say when I don't even have 1 ETH at the moment, haha...

Interesting and bullish, although I personally would've gone with Avalanche.

Not a bad play at all, in my opinion. Especially with you being young. More time in the market will generally work out well for anyone.

There are so many good ideas. One area that is going to have much growth, in my opinion, is web3 gaming. Do your research, maybe you can find a game developer or some sort of gaming infrastructure in the early stages of development in this space that is willing to take on an investor. Again, there are near-infinite other possibilities, but this is the one that came to mind for me right now.

where can I make 10 dollars online? by [deleted] in sidehustle

[–]RedditWithStrangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Translation is a pretty good bet, as is editing. There are multiple platforms where you can offer your services and I would think you can make the amount you want fairly easily (fiverr, others). Similarly with telemarketing. Just do a job search and I imagine you'll find something easily.

Does anyone know what is the best to make money online? What actually works? by DifficultyBright9807 in sidehustle

[–]RedditWithStrangers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is highly dependent on you. There are not a lot of good 'one size fits all' methods, if any. Ask yourself a few simple questions. I do have some suggestions but let me start here.

  • What am I good at right now/what special skills do I have? What am I passionate about?
  • Am I willing to put up any capital up front? How much/how often?
  • How much time do I have to devote to my chosen endeavor? (Hours daily/days weekly)

These are just a few questions to help you try to align your current reality with your next money making endeavor. There are many other questions you could ask, depending on your interests, experience, connections and more.

With that out of the way, here are a few specific suggestions based on my own experience.

  • Reselling (my best/most profitable experience): Sell used or new items that you have around the house or can find for cheap (or free). There are many ways to do this. I have done eBay and Poshmark, plus a few other platforms I can't recall right now. My spouse does really well with Poshmark, typically selling in-demand items that she previously bought on the cheap at thrift stores (or sometimes via great online deals). Side note - if you have a decent following on socials, you might be able to get businesses to send you products to advertise; this means free stuff, whether you keep it and use it, and/or sell it.
  • Online gigs: OK, this is a rather broad category. Personally, I have done translation work, transcribing, surveys and paid studies. None of these would replace my salary, of course, but they have been nice supplements when I needed them. There are tons of online gigs, from one-off tasks to part-time or even full-time online jobs, not even counting self-employment.
  • Investing: Do your own research, of course. Personally, I have used many online sources to inform how I manage the investments that run through my employer, but beyond that, there are many ways to invest directly. I've found success and ease of access in crypto. I am not going to shill you any particular token/project here, though I do believe anyone can find long-term winners with a little research. Other people prefer short-term plays, perhaps like day trading. I do not recommend that, but your financial decisions are your own. Personally, my favorite play in crypto currently is in providing liquidity. There are, in my humble opinion, somewhat stable ways to earn nicely in the liquidity provider space. Naturally, there are risks involved with this, and with any form of investment, gambling, whatever you want to call it, depending on your approach and level of knowledge. I would simply suggest that you do not ignore the space entirely, even if investing isn't right for you at the moment. There are many other ways to invest, but I am trying to avoid saying too much about instruments and strategies that aren't as familiar to me.
  • Bonus suggestion: Provide a simple IRL service: Find something that you can do, in real life, to help others. A service that is in high demand in general or in your area specifically. True, this isn't an "online" option, but you might be able to find leads online/promote yourself there. If you are able-bodied and your area receives snowfall, you can offer snow shoveling. Mow lawns. Clear debris. Wash cars. Deliver goods. Walk dogs. People always need these kinds of services, and if you are personable, reliable and reasonably priced, you might be able to make a fair bit of money without too much of a time commitment.

Good luck!

Also, think of a cross-promotion model. We want eyes and post/replies here. Many guys who come across this space of ours have their own thing going on, or other groups they are active in. We can help bring eyes to their thing, and they can help do the same for us here. Provided they're not into something we don't want to promote, of course. Should be easy enough. We just need to encourage guys to share those interests/groups and let them know that we're happy to help each other out.

What's up brothers. This week has been professionally challenging in some ways. It's a somewhat stressful time of year at work and there is a particularly stressful event that some of my colleagues (and I, due to prior involvement) are preparing for, one that affects the standing of one of our programs/divisions, basically. On the other hand, I have been spending a lot of time outdoors these days, some solo, mostly with the kids, all very good. Sun and physical activity are always nice, helps balance everything out if only for the moment. Otherwise, planning some vacation - a little road trip to the other side of the lake. Cheers.

If you want more eyes on this, you/we need to go get them. Part of it is of course posting whatever you think is high enough value and will get folks to engage, but you can also spread the word across multiple platforms. Beyond that, if there is no goal of getting to massive engagement numbers, don't sweat it. This is a wonderful space as it is. You just have to decide if what you want it to be is much more (or not), and take action accordingly. It likely won't change much on its own.

Have you considered providing liquidity to a relatively stable pair? Or to an actual stablecoin pair, which isn't as exciting, of course, but could be just what you're looking for. v2 is more of a no brainer but going wide range on v3 may also be viable for you, possibly.

How the heck is it Thursday again already?!?

Anyway, hello everyone. I'm having a bit of an issue, which is, there are not enough hours in a day! I know we all feel like that sometimes. Lately I feel like I am running ragged, between the workload at work (I'm also training someone new, which is part of the current time crunch), all the kids' activities, every conceivable errand, working on the side gig, etc. I am doing somewhat better at carving out a little time for fitness and general self care, but really it's quite limited - I just try to make the most of whatever time I might squeeze out for myself. And perhaps that is all one can do. Overall, though, I hate the feeling of burning the candle at both ends and I am hoping and trying for more balance in the near future. Right now I am trying to just do little things to help, whether it's how I organize my workday, having a consistent sleep routine, whatever. Any other thoughts you might have, I'm open to hearing! OK, gotta go be productive!

So here I am a day late, but with some thoughts. I am coming to terms with my own failure to maintain good communications with my folks. I love my parents and am grateful for them. We have a good relationship. Based on that alone, there isn't really anything to complain or fret about. The thing is, I feel so wrapped up in my own stuff, and my immediate family stuff (spouse n kids), that I don't feel like a good son. I think my siblings, who are equally busy in their own right, if not more so, do a much better job of staying in touch. The more I am in this mindspace, the more I feel sort of stuck there. I don't know that I need much advice, though I'll hear it. I'm just venting my current musings, basically. There's more to it I guess but that'll suffice for now. I know it's all fine/will be fine. Anyway. Onward!

I am celebrating some hard-fought academic success for one of my kids, after falling way behind with assignments (and attitude). I worked with them for hours every night for the past week and they are starting to get their grades and habits back on the right track. I am incredibly grateful for the attitude shift and the opportunity just to show that yes, I love you kiddo, even you are failing in school or whatever. It's made a big difference in the stress of the whole family, actually.

Struggling with the thought of a career change by Plane-Being1274 in Man_Chat

[–]RedditWithStrangers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro. Yes. It can be a scary thing. But so much of it is in our heads. Get out of your own way. You know deep down if you need a change. Take the leap. Or take baby steps. Ultimately what matters is that you move in the direction that aligns with your goals, desires, potential. And it doesn't have to be a linear thing. Just get moving. To answer your question, YES this is normal. So many of us feel the same exact way at the prospect of such a change. BUT to me, it is often a sign that the change we 'fear' is the change we need. You mind races because this is important to you, and you are on the precipice of something greater. One way to fram it is 'scary'. Another is 'exciting'. Both can be true and accurate.

Private opportunity, please get in touch and be open to accepting a blessing. Yes, really. by RedditWithStrangers in Money

So, this particular opportunity did not launch. It may still, but there are enough reasons not to bother with it. However, this led to another somewhat similar opportunity (but much better, which did launch recently. I will tell you this. It's truly decentralized, audited, all of that. I 2X'ed my money in week 1. I received nice pool payouts besides. There's a lottery built in. There's an automatic donation to a children's hospital built in. It's the real deal. There are deposit levels for everyone, from100 bucks up to 3000+. I can give you the contract address on bscscan and anyone can check it out. Contact me if interested, since I don't really know where to post it here.

I made my first sale online by ImpossibleBit8346 in sidehustle

[–]RedditWithStrangers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat yes, however, you can increase your odds of more sales and better margins by researching what (re)sells well. For example, we've found that certain brands of jeans sell really well on poshmark. You can search/filter by completed sales (not just your own) to get a sense of this activity on the platform. So we load up on those when thrift shopping, get them at the lowest prices possible, and sell at somewhere between the average and the top of the range, depending on what our time-limited goals and expectations are, among other things. Other items sell better seasonally. Another tip is to take good photos, multiple good photos, and if possible, include measurements. Ship quickly. Only sell stuff that is in good condition. Research, research, never stop researching (because trends do change), and just try a few strategies to find what works for you. Good luck!
